Im using it with a JR9X.
15mm servoarm.
36% gain (read on the control box) all AVCS.
Using it in F3C mode.

Did set it up in normal and adjusted the tailservomount until no drift and since that only running it in AVCS.

Set limit (left and right) so no binding appears.

Now i am really confused. I just did some research online. I have found conflicting reports from very well respected heli pilots. The 1st one from http://www.jkheli.com/601.htm states to set the gyro gain at no more than 37%. Augustos page states on step # 2 to set the gyro gain to 100%. .

the only gain that really matters is what you see
on the 601 control box.

that value is controlled by BOTH the 601
control box and the transmitter. You could
easily set the TX value to 100% while having
the 601 controller be alot less (because you
can have a low CGA? value)

I think i go it. Another question, why is it that when i am setting up my gain through the gy601 (not the radio) the number always comes up a few when i go back to the normal screen. example: I go to the gain setting screen and set it to 35%. I then turn off my heli and turn it back on and it will read 38%..It will do this on both settings, eitheir HH or Normal.. Is this normal?

Nopes, sounds like it "reads" the TX gain settings...

Set the gain on the gyro amp using the ATV from the radio side, not directly from the gyro control box.

What main and tail blade combo are you guys using with the gain settings ~36% etc.?

Also include gear ratio and headspeed.

690 MAH mains here with 97 SAB tail. 1750 headspeed at 8:45 ratio and the tail will still blow out during funnels.

i have my gain on my radio set to 100. so i dont think it is reading it from there. No matter what number i program in the gyro it comes up usually about 3 higher.

i also turned off the gyro function in the radio. but for some reason when i go to the screen that says G:1a 31% i set it at this, then i do the same for normal mode. Then when i go back to the normal screen it will show g34a4.9v. where does this # come from becouse i am not entering it. Has anybody had this problem?

snookfishnjoe,

The Gyro gain to 100% and the radio gain to aroun 27-36% or so. Your gyro displayed gain and the radio ATV gain you set will not necesarily match.

Augusto.

Elvis,

Use an EVO tail gear to speed up the tail to a similar RPM you had at around 1900 when using 7.92 and you'll get the tail authority back.

Thanks for the info.

Would that be the Part No. 412139 (16T) ?

I was going nuts trying to figure out how to get that rock solid tail.

yes, the -139 gear is correct.

you could also use the 412145 which is the
-139 already mounted on a tailshaft (just so
you dont have to bang out the pin and re-install).

It's a dropin replacement.

thanks.

I agree with you. The 412-145 seems to be the way to go.
