Hi all,
Myself and some clubmates are organising a heli fun-fly in Ireland. The event will be held in our club field at the Shankill Radio Flying Club (http://www.srfc.net). The club field is located just inland of Bray in Co Wicklow and is on the SE side of the Great Sugarloaf mountain. Access is easy, less than 5 minutes from the N11. The date will probably be the 20th of June 2004, subject to confirmation with committee.

All pilots must have current MACI (or BMFA if from the north) membership and insurance.

We really need to know what the level of interest is in order to provide you all with the maximum facilities e.t.c.

The event is all about fun and flying, it is a family day and there will be BBQ's there for all to enjoy. Work tables will be available, we hope to have plenty of demo's, clinics and possibly a few full-size too.

Please feel free to PM or post reply to this message if you are interested (or not). You may also visit the public forum on our club's web page and leave messages there.

Many thanks in advance.

Transmitter control !!!!!

Thanks John for the well wishes and more importantly the information from your successful Skelmersdale event.

We have put together a bullit proof transmitter and frequency control system for the day on the advice of the Skelmersdale team. Prospective visitors need not worry about being shot down.

Fun is the order of the day.

I missed your bring and buy, had to mind the baby all day. I hope it went well for you.

We are working on the fly-in almost every day at the moment. I will keep you well abreast of plans too.

Hi Garry,
Looks like this is going to be a good day. I will bring my Millenium 2 and Alex from RCMarket.org has asked me to build a Dyna-X conversion for it. I will have the conversion part finished but not with the mechanics. It can then be compaired with the Millenium 2 frame.

Myself and Bob Finley are travelling down on Saturday morning. I must have a look at the long term forecast for the weeknd, anybody see it yet?

I have never made it to the Scluter cup though I did fly once mid-week at the shannon field. Looking forward to this saturday's gig.

Who else on RR is travelling?

GK.

I was just on the phone to a Tim Callan. He lives in Drogheda and he is having some problems with his Raptor 60. I said I would ask if one of you guys from Navan would give him a ring and try to sort it out. Would one of you be willing? He will come to you.
Thanks

Hi Dominic,
Thanks,I will give him your number as I don't think he has a computer.

He bought a Raptor 60, ready built, I think, from a friend of his in Athlone. He has since been trying to learn how to set it up in case he needs to rebuild it ( I should say WHEN he needs to rebuild it ) He feels that no one will share their info. He is a bit upset about it all.

I must point out that I do not know this guy. Jeff from the 3D masters gave him my number.
I told him that if I couldn't find him anyone better or closer that I would be glad to help, but I think that would be a case of the blind leading the blind.
Thanks for helping him.

Bob,

Just spoke with Tim, Liam Broderick has his heli and will set it up for him - maybe someone could pick it up at the weekend?

He is coming to Navan on Sunday after lunch to meet the gang.

I understand his fustration - we'll look after him, we've all been there!

Perhaps you could improve attendance by offering a years supply of black and white pudding (blecch) to the best scale heli and/or best 3d flyer?? That should attract em'.

Maybe a case of Guinness as well. I don't think we can do that though as we only have about five acres at our site and a few thousand around it. There will be nowhere to park!

Thanks Dominic. I knew you guys could help him. I think he has a bad taste in his mouth from his experience and it would only take a little help to get it out and get him going.
If there is no one from up there to pick his heli up, I will be glad to do it. I am in south Dublin though, so it makes for a long journey for him to pick it up from here. Let me know.

Some of us are still there!

Thanks.
