This is a test scenery from a software enthusiast, Mr Rainer, http://home.arcor.de/rainerstein/AFP_pano/ Shows what is possible with the future AFP

Here are the download and installation instructions :

-download the MSV_Plankstadt.zip and unzip it to the scenery directory. With winzip, a new folder containing all the data wil be created.
-copy the 3 file MSV_Plankstadt.bmp
MSV_Plankstadtlg.bmp and MSV_Plankstadt.geo into the scenery directory.
-you need now to convert all the jpg files into bmp files with a classic photo editor.
- now go to (C:\Programme\IPACS\AeroFly\config) open the main config folder
and change the line gl_max_texture_size 512
into gl_max_texture_size 1024.

Run your new scenery, it should work.

Oh Dion, you really want to compare these ambitious trials with XTR and your conclusion is: "Now there is the best of both worlds"? You don't need a flight sim, you need a "my-world-sim".

Really, I would love to but you keep posting informations that don't stand up to the facts. Threatening me with a lawyer in PM's dosn't make things easier, just shows your position. "Now there is the best of both worlds" is advertising facts that needs some correction. It's not me posting that kind of stuff, it's you. If you don't want me to step in just write what you can stand up with.

Dion, don't you want to understand or do you just pretend to do so? You quoted from a thread that asked for explanations about the 3D technology. What you quoted was just a description of that technology without saying that it's good or bad. In the contrary, you find me saying that either technologies have pros and cons and is suitable for the one or the other purpose.

Dion, if you want to use my own quotes against me, just at least TRY to stick what I've written: " I wouldn't dare to say one technology is superior to the other. The PANOLusion technology was designed exatly to the purpose of what it does, not more."

Other useage of my post could be interpretated as - let's say "intentious"?

There are rules here as in other forums. If you don't stick to the rules ... the problem is there. The same applies for me or anybody else here. But you won't see me quoting "semi-truth" from other people post just to produce an effect you want. If you blame Mark for that, it's probably not the right approach.

The last time i checked (which was not that long ago) after playing with all the sims i came to the conclusion as did many other that the reflex is the daddy (the best).

Nobody wants to break you. Support your AFP here, feed your community but PLEASE consider doing so as everybody else does: fairness and a little more common sense. Push your product as much as you can but the product has so much to offer, you don't need the contrast to the Reflex to get the peoples attraction. Tell them about the Harrier, the glider towing, the split screen - ther are phantastic features in AFP I would like to have but I don't have them. Focus on the product features and forget the competition for the moment - THAT'S providing information and thrill.

My Posts: All  Forum  Topic

i don't want to get involved in the argument but i will reply to rotor x.

if you had tried all the sims you would have realised AFP is very good. i'm not going to say the best as i haven't tried xtr yet, it's on order though.

but make no mistakes, AFP is a very very good sim. try it, you may just change your mind on relflex. the problem with most peoples opinions is hardly anybody has tried all the sims, me included. the only one i have not tried is xtr. but AFP flies and handles better than ANY sim i've tried. old reflex included.

if xtr is better then i'll say so when i get it.

cheers

See Dion, RaptorHeli2 is just giving us a good lesson on how these things can be formulated in a high competition environment while expressing his favorit.

Thanks Raptorheli.
