Hi all,

Has anyone used the Callie graphics vinyl decals for the raptor canopies? Can you please share your thoughts on them and how they have stood up to the fuel/oil spray?

thanks,
John

I haven't personally used them, but any vinyl decals will stand up the the fuel if you make sure to coat them with automotive clear coat. You'll want to check to see if they do it before they ship them. If they do, you have nothing to worry about. If they don't, just spray them with a couple coat's of clear BEFORE you put them on the canopy. Clear coat does not stick to the plastic of the canopy. Whether or not they spray them, I would just spray them again for prevention.

Thanks for the reply Dr Dan. To spray the decals is not possible the way they are shipped. They have a backing on both sides of the decal. They are applied to the canopy by removing the back glossy backing and after they are pressed down and stuck on, then the front paper backing is removed, leaving the decal behind. I am sure there is no clear coat on them of any kind. They seem to really adhere strongly to the canopy, which is nice. They also look great, shiny and very deep saturated colors. I just hope they stand up to the fuel spray. I wouldn't want to spray clear on the canopy after they have been put on, since nothing really sticks to the raptor milk jugs anyway.

Anybody who has been flying them for a while have any comments?

I have a set of Callie graphics on my 60 but just put them on a few weeks ago. I also have a set of rotorgraphics on my 30 that have been on for 1 year. They are still in excellent condition. I didn't use clear coat, they stick well enough.

I have a had a set of star spangled graphics on my raptor 50 for about a year now. No clear coat, and so far no problems. They look great.

Thanks for the reply guys...that is exactly what I was hoping for. They look great and I will probably put them on all my machines now that I feel comfortable they will last. Callie's service is great. Ordered a custom color set and she shipped them the same day. the carbon fiber black is really nice looking.

I would go with Vinyl over Paint Any Day!

Callie has some very nice Graphics! I don't have any but they look great.
And the good thing about vinyl is when you want a new look you just pull off the old graphic and replace with NEW.. its that easy!!!
I have had vinyl on one of my Heli's for over 3 yrs and it has a little wear not from fuel but from hanger rash it still look's good so Go with the VINYL.. I would not clear coat the vinly it does fine with out it...
