Anything 680mm to 700mm for mains... Use the stock tail blades!!! If you go longer on the tail, you are going to create harmonics that are not really in your best intrest. Ask Eric Larson about this...

Here is what my setup consists of with 5s4p packs:

-for main blades, I'm going with SAB 690's
-gy601 w/ stock tail blades

Don't use the BEC set-up... they have the tendency to fail. I'm going with the duralite 2800mah pack & fail safe switch

I saw a post in another area that duralite has made a pack for another person for the ion....

It is a 1900 pack (slightly modified) and supposedly it will fit perfect... I have an email into duralite to find out the details of this pack

if the 2800 will fit as well i would prefer to go with the 2800.....

If you are referring to Jason Krause, he's using 700 gamma's on his ion...

Most any brand of 680 to 700 main blades should work well. 710's seem to be a bit much on the torque requirements from the motor. The power curve seems to like around 690 blades from my experience.

Any 95mm tail blades should run well. One side note is that 95mm on the ION seem to hold as well as 105's on my Nitro ships..

I run a Duralite reciever pack for safety reasons.

Blades

I've been flying my ION-X for around a month now and have settled on the TG tapered Symmetrical 69-70cm blade.
it's very low drag, 3-D or Fai flying and Auto's well.

Most recently, I've been trying out a set of the 700mm MAH gen 2's which are turning out to be a great all around blade for the heli. Previously, I felt the 680mm SAB were the blade to go with, so you can see how fickle I am. Basically what you want to do is choose the most efficient blade you can find. Go with thin airfoils and swept tips. 680's seem to stay more "regulated", speed wise, but the bigger disk offered by 700's has advantages as well, like auto performance and cyclic response.
