Oh Sealerman, and you were so close to being able to write a post without using profanity! I was almost proud of you.

Be careful, though. Your buddies at the Cato Institute may revoke your membership for not being able to express yourself without resorting to profanity. And I certainly wouldn't want you to lose such a distinction.

Still no answer, huh Clarice? Or have you forgotten the question already?

Oh, and just for grins... looks like it's going to be an awesome weekend here in CA. I think I'll take out the SE and try to pop the first generation piston in my OS 70. I know you'd want to know.

studies show that 60% of americans are overweight. Most fatties are lazy too, which doesn't surprise me that they're suing fast food chains. Then they'll be on disability cause they can't get their fat out of bed. I don't mind big people, it's the lazy ones I despize. You all sound like bitches.

Hey Divebummer,

What are you talking about, and why would you think I would feel I have to answer any stupid loaded question you have to ask. Get your own answers you idiot.

Sealerman, Squealerman, Drugdealerman, Feelerman, etc. Or, as Seneca says, Loserman

The name-game is always fun. Did you come up with "Divebummer" on the playground today?
You don't have any helis.
I do TOO! And you don't. Nanner nanner nahh-ner! (Feel at home?)
What are you talking about,
Short memory, huh? Go to the link I posted. But since you won't, here's the question, yet again:

What would Saddam Hussein have to have done in order for you to have supported an invasion of Iraq?
why would you think I would feel I have to answer any stupid loaded question you have to ask.
That's simple. Because you can't resist the opportunity to launch, stumbling and spitting, into some other childish diatribe full of insults and profanity. The catch here is that you might actually have to string together two coherent sentences that had a point rather than a put-down.
Get your own answers you idiot.
Thanks for making my point.

Divebummer,

I supported the 1st Gulf war( like that makes any difference in this crazy world) But this war was sold as a defensive pre emptive strike against a gathering threat with WMD's. I think ( and that is still legal until people like you try to make it illegal) that this war is a test bed for the doctrine put forth by The Project for a New American Century. Many Presidents have stated that they hold the right to pre-emption but GWB has put it to use not to protect the people of the U.S. but to put the world on notice that America is the only world leader and will not take even the whisper of a challenge to that by any country. Now I'm an American and if I was naive I would believe that (and want that)and expect the world to except it. But I'm not naive and I know that history shows any power that tries to unjustly rule the world is destine for failure.
The protection of the American people is very low on GWB's list thats why he pulled resources and personel from Afganistan (the real battle ground on the "war on terror")so early because they felt the American people (or at least idiots like you) would go along with the attack on iraq with 9/11 in the back ground.
Recap
Afganistan, real battle ground on war on terror.
Iraq, test bed for doctrine of The Project for a New American Century.
WMD's a lie, GWB doesn't care at all about the Iraqi people.
GWB wants world peace and to protect the U.S. maybe so but very very low on his list of things to do while President.
Divebomber, Idiot.
Thank you for your time.

Squealerman,

Still using cutsie names, huh? At least you were able to provide an opinion this time (without cursing), even though you still resorted to name-calling in the end. One step forward, two steps back.

My bet is that you 'cut-and-pasted' your response, adding the idiot part at the end, but it doesn't matter. I'll address your points anyway, because even if you did cut and paste, one assumes you agree with the content.
But this war was sold as a defensive pre emptive strike against a gathering threat with WMD's.
Half truth. This phase of the war on terror was in response to Iraq's non-compliance with UN resolutions and the defaulting of Iraq on the terms of the ceasefire at the end of the first Gulf War. The case for WMD was one of the arguments made to try and convince the vacilating UN to put some action behind its words, not as a sole reason for invasion, as you want to say.
I think ( and that is still legal until people like you try to make it illegal)
An assumption on your part at best; a weak attempt at insult at worst.
Many Presidents have stated that they hold the right to pre-emption but GWB has put it to use not to protect the people of the U.S. but to put the world on notice that America is the only world leader and will not take even the whisper of a challenge to that by any country.
Erroneous analysis. GWB stated that the war would be taken to all countries who harbor and support terrorism. Saddam's link to support and harboring terrorists is well documented and proven. An ancilliary result may have been to prove to other countries that we won't put up with challenges to our security, but that was not the 'use' of the war.
But I'm not naive and I know that history shows any power that tries to unjustly rule the world is destine for failure.
Incorrect conclusion. The Roman empire failed because of it's growing lethargy, internal corruption, and selfish attitiudes, not because of any 'unjust' ruling of the world. If you truly study the rise and fall of all great world powers, their failures resulted from their own internal incompetence and lethargy; not the 'justness' of their rule.
The protection of the American people is very low on GWB's list thats why he pulled resources and personel from Afganistan (the real battle ground on the "war on terror")...
Poor assumptions. Unless you are entertwined in the very heart of the CIA and the Whitehouse simultaneously, you have no clue what is low or high on GWB's 'list'. You wish to make a negative assumption, but one needs to use facts, not whims. As for whether Afganistan is the 'real' battleground on the war on terror, you need to define what in your mind makes it 'real' or 'not real'. Combat operations in Iraq with outside terrorist groups has been greater in Iraq than in Afghanistan. Also, the war in Afghanistan is very different that that of Iraq, requiring different types and levels of combatants and resources. Just because the news isn't focusing on Afghanistan, doesn't mean that there is significant and effective action occuring there. Same can be said about other spots around the world where the war on terror is being fought without the press coverage.
...so early because they felt the American people (or at least idiots like you) would go along with the attack on iraq with 9/11 in the back ground.
Again, you appear to know GWB's innermost intentions. Sounds like a conspiracy theory based on wishes, not facts. As for the 'idiot' comment, it just goes to show you can get through a discussion without being derogatory.

Recap
Baseless, uninformed opinion.
Leftist rhetoric
Angry, biased opinion
Ridiculous spittle
Childish attempt at insult

And after all of that, you STILL didn't answer my question. Couldn't find anything to 'cut and paste'? Keep working on it, Potato-peelerman. You might have an original thought yet.

Armageddon, that's a good question, but I believe the reason is purely procedural one. Remember that the separation between the Legislative branch and the Administrative branch is well defined and important. The idea is to keep one branch of government from tying up the other.

For example, would you expect a member of Congress to testify in front of the President and his cabinet regarding some percieved scandal? On the surface, it seems that there shouldn't be any problem with each branch having the ability to question the other without delay or problems, but throw in good 'ol nasty politics, and it can become a sticky nightmare.

The absolute answer to your question could be that the meeting was requested by the committe to be so, for scheduling reasons, convenience, etc. It could also be that it was a technicality worked out to comply with separation issues. I doubt we'll ever get the real answer, but in the end, it really doesn't matter.

However, I'm sure there's a few really juicy speculations circulating on moveon.org. And the people who want to believe the negative, will.

divebomber - that was the way Bush wanted it.. They had to take it or
leave it...

When suspects are being questioned, they are separated so they
cannot cover for each other and lie... You find that when separated,
stories usually differ because there is something to hide and
new versions are being created...

There is only one truth but countless lies for any event...

I do not profess to know everything... I think whoever thinks they know
what is really going on is fooling themselves.. All GWB records
are sealed...and yet he keeps saying he has nothing to hide..

Most of us have no idea what our neighbors are doing, and yet we
think we know what is going on in the White House...

Armageddon, negotiations are seldom one-sided. You don't know for sure what Bush wanted and what he didn't want.

I do know some things about questioning people; I've done it officially a few times. I doubt that separation issues are why the testimony was done the way it was. But then I don't know for sure, either. It's all speculation. The fact is the testimony was agreed to and received. Period. As I said before, those who wish to believe in conspiracies will do so no matter what.

Ahh, Sealerman,

This time you worked in vulgarity with the name-calling. How witty.
You are unbelievable, where would I get that post from?
Why, drivel like that could only come from the Cato Institute! You are still a member, right?
Who do you think you are, your arrogance is breath taking.
I'm just some electronic words on a screen that irritate and confound you. Why do you care?

Erroneous conclusions result from basing such conclusions on half-truths, lies, fabrications and wishful thinking. If my pointing out the falicy of your arguments is "arrogant" in your mind, then so be it.

We've already established that you resort to name-calling and profanity whenever you feel trapped. Your posts continue to reinforce this.
Oh and if you post something he thinks is intelligent he will accuse you of plagiarism.
What about your previous post(s) makes you believe that I think anything you've posted to this point is 'intelligent'? Your last post was 'coherent', but nothing more. And that's why, in your case, I believe it to be plagiarized. If it had been 'intelligent', I'd have had no doubt.
I have a question for you now, What would it take for you not to support GWB and the Republican party? If you dare to answer.
Quid pro quo, Clarice; Quid pro quo
You've yet to answer my question, yet I've always faithfully answered your requests. You told me in a previous thread that unless I posted something related to R/C helicopters, you wouldn't answer my question. So, I posted some heli tips. On your side of the deal, you responded that you didn't have time to answer my question. So, until you do, Your turn.

But I'll give you a hint as to my answer to your question:

You assume that I'm a Republican.
Divebomber thinks he knows everything but I don't think he's fooling himself I think he's just an Idiot.
No. I know for sure I don't know everything. But there is one thing I do know. You won't be able to ignore this post.
