Try removing the module at the back of the radio when you sim. With that removed it will use way less power.

Just make sure your not Transmitting as that saps your power !! Remove crystal or complete module.....then radio lasts a lot longer....

No Need to Remove Module

From Rajul another Runryder member.

Im using the Futaba adapter from http://www.fxaeromodels.com/other.htm You could also get it from http://aeroflypro.com/purchase/ My Tx battery lasts forever and it also protects my module from damage. No glitches whatsoever after daily use for a year. Works on Reflex, AFP and RFG2 Good luck

I purchased this cable. So much better than the one from Tower Hobbies. Cost a little more but worth it. I use this for my Futaba 9ch radio. If you have any question you can e mail me. Thanks And Safe flying.

Have a look at this link

If you are using a 9CHP, solder the back of pins 5 and 6 on the plug together The Tx will switch on in trainee mode when you plug the interface in. i.e no RF.

In my opinion, the Reflex inteface for the 9CHP should be supplied with this mod already done.

I think the interface is made by futaba not Reflex...

The reflex only ships standard with din and jack plugs not this new stupid lead futaba came up with...

The Square plug is an "optional extra"

Reflex system does not come with the cable for the 9c radio. You still need to buy the adapter. square connector to mono plug. The cable above doesnt need you remove the module or turn on the reciever. So your battery will last longer and your chance of braking pin on the back of the transmitter will be a lot less. Those pins are very fragile.

I flew for over an hour with no problem. I have a 9Z and I took the mod out. I just sold a 9Z and now that I think about it I should have kept it as a fancy joystick. How do you guys feel about using radio for sim, maybee lots of extra wear tear time ?

Hmmmm... My 9CHP lasts 16 - 17 hours with 1850NiMh batteries when I'm just using Reflex..

Either remove the frequency module or use a cable that disables the tx from transmitting and you will be fine.
