Hi everyone. I'm intereted in purchasing a muffler for my stock G23 as the box muffler is just way to loud. I've read quite a few posts here on runryder for the Bergen muffler and it sure SOUNDS like a winner . But before I sell all my other RC stuff to pay for this muffler, I was wondering how the century gas torpedo muffler performs. The price is definitly a big plus but does it quite things down? Also, will I experience a power increase over the stock unit (I'm guessing yes)? The stock 167 is going out as soon as the 603 comes, will the torpedo still be a good choice? Thanks in advance guys!

The Torpedo muffler is the only muffler I have run that actually helps the topend for the 231PUH....Its also the best sounding muffler I've ever run...It is pretty quiet also...never done a Db test on it, but its in there with the zimmerman...

Thanks

Thanks Bill for the input. The price of the torpedo unit is very attractive. As long as produces less dB than the stock box unit, I am game. $99 with free shipping, here I come.

A lot of folks like the MA 4030, is quiet and makes great power.

But if you're pinching pennies, go for it...

Does anyone know if the Torpedo muffler will work on the 230PUH in a Z230?

Thanks

WHERE are you guys getting the Century muffler? One post said $99.00 with free shipping.

If I go this route I would put it on an X-Celler gasser. DO I NEED any special extras to put it on the G231 X-Cell Gasser?

DOES anyone know the sound of this muffler compared to a Bergen muffler?

Best Regards, Dario

The Bergen and MA are both quieter, smoother sound, but give great power.

They sell the torpedo device at *Century*.

www.heli-world.com

Hi dariof! The place where you can order the Torpedo muffler with free shipping is at heli-world.com. The following link will take you there although there isn't really any info on that page with regard to what the specifications of this particular muffler.

http://www.heli-world.com/Merchant2...-mufflerCentury

To my understanding, this is a direct bolt-on to the 23 and the 231. You can contact heli-world directly and I'm sure you will be answer your question.

Hope this helps.

Bill,

How does the 'torpedo' compare to the MinAir-4030?

I'm just wondering. I have the 4030 and love it but we can always improve something, right?

Looking at the 4030, I always thought the exhaust exit was a bit small in diameter, even though the muffler seemed to work great.

The 4030 is a good system, but barely handles the new engines with more flow, than the older g23 it was designed for..It holds the g26A back IMO
The Torpedo muffler is really a tune muffler...I don't know if they designed it that way, but it sure worked out so...When it gets to that certain rpm, you can feel the boost...I know I like it..Who can complain? look at the price...
