I take that back SENACA, I don't look forward to seeing you in that accident section on verticalreference.com forum . Change your attitude and you will live longer in the helicopter world. Just some advice, when flying the helicopter and you want to descend Do Not push the cyclic forward, lower the collective. This is the number one mistake of all fixed wing pilots that gets them killed. Nobody deserves to die regardless of how much of an a$$ they make of them selves. Fly safe and most of have fun doing what you love, getting paid. Oh I mean getting paid to fly.

Hirobo 505, bought second hand. I managed to get it into a fairly stable hover a few times, around 20 years ago, I think.

The first one I tried to fly was my old man's HeliBoy (I think that's what it was called) - fixed pitch, hiller control, no gyro, and you adjusted the tracking by bending the rotor blade mounts. Crude!

My first heli was a GMP Competitor, using an old Futaba FP-T7FGH radio which I still keep around for playing with FMS. The heli, on the other hand, never recovered from my second attempt at forward flight.

Nexus

Nexus 30...........loads of upgrades and bench time it flies great......still has the original OS32 in it with loads of fuel through it. 4 years old and still a pain in the arse from a maintenance stand point........GO RAPPY Best thing I ever did to it was to get rid of the Futaba Skysport 6 channel radio that it came with. Now all my helis run on the Eclipse 7 with the spectra module.

Whew...

1986~7, it was a GMP Competitor with wood blades that never seems to break and NO GYRO !!!

Must have put that thing into the ground dozens of times, miraculously, those original wood blades just stayed together. I did saw off the frayed tips of those woodies after a few crashes, checked for wood integrity, and re-balanced them before reusing them!

Schluter Heli-Baby, Webra 40 blackhead, no gyro, Cannon 4 channel single stick radio. Was 1979 or 1980 if I'm not mistaken.

in 1979, a Graupner Bell 47 which was plastic. Due to my inexperience, it shook itself half to death. I gave it away.
In 1983, met an army aviator in Germany who sold me on the Schluter Heli-Star. I was hovering on my own in two weekends and off the training gear in about a month. Still have it, rebuilding it as we speak, and putting it in a Schluter Twinstar fuselage.

Take Care.
