Dubro Whilybird. Man I'm getting to old for my own good. Second ship was a Dubro Shark. Not many folks had real good flights back then. Third was a Cricket the best of the three. Now I want an EVO 50 as soon as I can make up my mind between a 8103 or 9C.

Fullagas,
Airmen are pilots for hot air balloons That is why they are called Airmen. Airmen are not even close to being helicopter pilots, maybe airplane pilots but deffinetly not helicopter pilots.

Yep, Dubro Shark 1974 model

How about this for features: pull-start, 60 size fixed pitch, semi-symm one piece hardwood blades, glow converted weedwacker engine and hiller only cyclic control.!

Talk about delayed response

A basketcase Nexus 30

In March of 98, I purchased a wrecked (trashed) Kyosho Nexus 30. It only had a few hours of engine flight time on it, so I purchased it, radio, starter and all. I put it together, trimmed it out and learned to fly from that little machine. I had over two hundred hours on it when I sold it. I enjoyed flying it and learned a great deal on it. That little plastic heli didn't owe me a penny.

Pound for Pound, Heli's are a blast..... Roland

Hegi Cobra, Kavan Jetranger in the mid '70's...Proline 7 channel AM (replaced an old E K Logictrol setup) radio w/ PLS 11 rack servos (w/ 40 oz/in torque!!!) and Enya 60 III motors. Gyros were still far in the future!
First "modern" model was the Schluter Heli baby and Heli-boy. The Heliboy would loop and roll quite well as I recall...still no gyros...
Holy Crap I'm OLD!

It's better now I suppose...

Kalt Baron 20 with Sanwa 4 channel way back in 86.

No gyro, no idea. I tried to hover it in the back yard once and chopsticked it. Rebuilt and sold when I joined the Army to fly in real helis.

SENACA,

I don't need to get paid to be helicopter pilot ot to talk crap. I've done the training I've passed the course and the written w/ a 94%. I'm working on ratings up to CFll. As far as the dream thing goes, I've acomplished and surpassed the dream. I only wanted to be a helicopter pilot, but now I'm working on making a career out of it.You may laugh, call it a joke, say I'm full of crap but regardless of what you say I'm still a Helicopter PILOT. Your post states what kind of an atitude you have which is macho (I'm better than anybody else, " oh brother, you can only talk crap if your getting paid to fly") With attitude like this if you fly helicopters your a dead man and only time will tell (very short time that is).I feel real sorry for you because of your way of thinking. It's sad to say but I will look forward to seeing your name posted in the accident section of vericalreference.com forum.
