Ive flown coolpower for years ,long before it came to the uk - in hong kong . Now i have quite a few machines and i would say i am a loyal fuel flyer ....But alas ,the price of 20% magnum for a cheaper price than 15% coolpower and the summer season coming , i had to try it .
No running in period , just a brief hover - couple of clicks and away she went , wow.......Now i don't know whether its the fuel or just that extra 5%nitro , but the fury stonks !!
Whats better , John can do you a discount deal if you buy by the case loads , you can get 25% discount if you buy 48 cases of any mixed type fuels -hows that for a deal if your a club. That works out at approx £12-50 per gallon for 20% if bought in bulk of 48 cases , the lower the amount of cases the less discount . We are hoping to buy 48 cases and the guys at the field are just checking it out .
Its nice to get something cheaper for a change , how long before the coolpower prices come down !

Myself and a mate bought 2 cases 20% magnum to try from Bob J worked out at about £18 a gallon -- it a nice thought to get a bulk order but how do you get fellow club members to agree on what fuel to use.
Thanks for info.

you can buy any nitro content to get the discount, just tell them 30% can be had for £16. they will want it.

i'm in the same boat here. can't get enough for that discount.

anybody fancy a UK runryder group buy on magnum?

cheers

What I would like to know is how they achieve these prices -- I have been looking into reducing fuel costs for sometime now; at first i was going to mix my own but after checking out the costs of bulk purchasing the constituents and then having learnt quite how thorough the mixing has to be i passed on that idea. I was basing my costings on using only the best pure synthetic Klotz oil at 20% by the time all costs were added in and working on buying quantities like 50 gallons of the klotz and 200 gallons of methanol I was only saving 30% and still had all the work to do.

Dont get me wrong if Magnum can supply a quality fuel for good prices I am all in favourand I shall be contacing them tomorrow to check out their bulk prices.

raptorheli2 that sounds like an awesome idea, put me down for a couple of cases of 20% if you go ahead with the RR group purchase . Two problems though:

1. Distributing it out to people. Perhaps individuals could pick their share up at 3DM or something
2. Getting £2400 together, unless everyone can pay separately

Maybe we should start a new thread on this to gauge the interest???

right, what would need to be done is obviously postage of the goods would need to be arranged for people who can't pick it up. i can pick mine up when i'm down from scotland for masters.

alternitively i suppose we could sort summit out with skyline. the only way i can see this happening is if we either phone skyline and all put our names on a list called runryder bulk magnum along with our details and payment then this won't work. by doing it this way it means no 1 person will have monies of others or their information.

or we could all send skyline cheques and a note saying what we are wanting as part of the runryder purchase or something. i'm open to suggestions.

if anybody is interested please say so and in what rough quantity and nitro percentage.

cheers

I believe '3DGOonnabe' is the man behind Magnum Fuels UK, maybe we could arrange something with him direct? How about a PayPal a/c where everybody pays in??? Of course the 3% fee might take away some of the sweetness of the deal....

hmmm

Been running Coolpower for past 3 years.

Just finished my first gallon of Magnum 20% and will not be going back to CP.

The engine runs much sweeter and goes like the proverbial.

As a general rule do you need to richen or weaken the needle when going up on nitro. I know there are probably other variables like oil content to consider

can I squeeze in my UK friends,,, I have heard more guys saying that Magnum 12% makes the same power as 15% C-Power (and Magnum smokes more to),,, I mixed-up some Magnum 12 and Magnum 30, it came to 18%, I noticed immediately it idled better/smoother and had more power (all on 3% more nitro),,, it's all in the oil !!,,, if I can find Magnum I'll never run CP again,,,

now, if you guys want even more power find a larger cab for your motors...

Been looking into bulk orders too....

Although you go through skyline, i beleive it gets shipped direct from cholchester (although i could be wrong).

I pm'ed 3DGOonnabe a while back and he said -

"We can arrange kerbside delivery of a pallet to you for about £110 on a taillift lorry (72hr delivery).
To give you an idea, 48 cases is about 770kg"

I say bring it on, £12.50 for 20%

It will be cheaper than petrol soon !!!

Just made an identical switch...from CoolPower 15% to the Magnum 20% and, althought it's a bit early to put anything in concrete, personally, I like the Magnum better. I felt like (and this was on an OS-.91 stock and an OS-.91 with a single Viperhead) the engine runs were more consistent with noticably more power than the CoolPower. Only thing I did was richen the engines by two clicks in anticipation of the higher nitro content and higher temps. Other than that, I just flew them, watched the transitions carefully and stayed alert for good smoke and any signs of the engines leaning out. Checked temps with a Ray-Tek and found nothing out of the ordinary as well.

Goole

Hi

I spoke to John earlier today and for you guys going to Goole I know he'll be up there this weekend so if you want to try out the Magnum give him a shout.

Me, well I'm a convert, my last thread was closed down due to a possible outbreak of a fuel war apparently, (I know the real reason).

Magnums the way to go, smells nicer, higher visibility in the tank, smoother running, more power and to top it off, a lot cheaper. We can't go wrong.

All you CP sceptics, give it a try, its cracking stuff.
