I am tired of having to keep regluing the tail boom support mount.
Can anyone suggest a better support that will stand up to the rigors? I dont want to let the tail rotor blade break just because it take a strike with no support.

Thanks
Ron

Go with a direct drive tail and ditch the boom support. The smaller blade won't hit the ground nearly as easily.

Or you can go with a metal upgrade boom support form somewhere like helihobby.

Or with a little work and a couple extra duckets you can mount a DF tail. Have one on mine and it flies like a champ.

i use a butterfly paperclip with the metal towards the ground. the metal tabs just clear the prop, so its protection without a long goofy stick.

Kewl, I would like to see other options to this. I can't believe they placed a simple plastic mount for a location that takes a beating.
I think it broke off the first time I tried hoverig in the backyard grass.
I have glued and reglued it several times and it snaps off immediately.
Although once I got it trimmed, it seemed to handle real well without it, but it already caused me a coule of broken tail rotor blades.

For the tail skid, I cut it off, leaving 1/2" and fitted a piece of R/C airplane antenna tube.

I attached a little piece (20mm) of sleeving from some electric cable to the bottom of the rod. It acts like a damper and prevents the shock loads being transmitted up to the bracket. I haven't broken one yet and I've broken just about everything else.

Well, I went ahead and glued it back on... again..
So lets see what I can hit it with this time.
