Im using a GV-1 with 811 servo. This is on a new Rap.50 V-2. I was flying with the GV-1 not inhibited due to breaking in the new OS .50 engine. We inhibited the GV-1 and developed a problem with the rpm suddenly increasing. At idle the throttle would surge whenever it felt like it with no real sense of timing and no imput from the radio. When it did this the servo was moving so it wasnt a surge from the engine.

We moved the inhibit on the GV-1 back to 100% throttle so it would not come in just to shake things out. But the govenor is still coming in and the throttle will increase during flight.

Ive made sure the battery leads are away from other leads and there are no other servos acting up. Ive had this happen in 2 different flying locations and im comfortable with saying its in the Governor, and not the enviroment or battery.

Dr.Dan feels like it may be in the sensor but we arent certain. Im ready order a new sensor but wanted to check with some others before I do.

thanks

Lowflyer,

I had this exact same problem. My throttle would suddenly go to full and not drop down. The servo was stuck at full. Sometimes for a few seconds and once for a full tank!

I traced it to the sensor, but not what you expect. I found that the sensor wire had been touchiung the fan base and the insulation was exposed. Every time the sensor wires were shorted the govenor just switched off totally and the throttle servo went to full open!

Check for this!

Another way to explain what it's doing is while hovering with the GV-1 on abot 1600, the rpm will jump up about 1000 rpm for no reason. then after about 10 sec's of the higher Rpm, it drops down to where it was before. When checking the Max RPM , it says only 1600.

Another thing that happens also is when the reciever and transmitter are on, and the engine is off, the throttle arm will move about 1/4 inch open then imediately move back to idle position. This happens about every 2 minutes or so.

1. Do you think the throttle arm twitching is causing this raise in RPM?

2. Do you think that maybe the sensor is not kicking on for some reason , and after a little while, it kicks on causing the increase in RPM since the max RPM says 1600?

3. His engine has about 5 tanks on it. Can this be because of the engine being new?

4. don't the RPM's have to be at a certain percentage before the GV-1 kicks in regardless if we have it set to switch on at 1/4 stick?

I have his throttle curve setup as a basic linear curve. I also have his GV-1 setup just like mine on the same kind of heli, and mine is working perfectly.

Any input will be appreciated.
