Looking for a new charger. I was leaning towards the schulze and the orbit pro but cant make up my mind. Tell me what your experiences with them have been. Also which one would you reccomend?

i do not own any of them , but i know that cyberheli.com are fussy about what they keep and they sell the schulze over the robbe

Hi,

Orbit is a company of its own, and the Microlader is way better than the Schulze imho.

More wattage for the money, easier to use, exact AD converter (very important for Lipos).

Schulze has a second output, nice for slowfliers but more or less unusable for anything else (slow charging rates). The 8-936 has a nice display, but it looks like they still don't ship the Lipo upgrade - the hardware is just at it's limits while the Orbit chargers were designed with Lipos in mind.

I compared 6-330 and Orbit V6.3, I went with the Orbit and never regreted it. By the way, the backlit display is really nice if you use the charger in a dark corner of your hobby room.

robbe chargers are usually a good value, but they can't charge more than 4/5 Lipo cells in series yet.

My Orbit v 6.3 works great on lipo, and is cheaper than a schultz with comparable performance.

Have had about 9 months. Did one s/w upgrade, which I paid 10 bucks for, I think.

Orbit

I don't own an Orbit but I talked to the guys at RadicalRC and they were telling me about some of the features. One nice feature was that it is upgradeable by replacing an Eprom etc. That is a lot better than having to purchase a whole new charger.

You may want to contact them and ask any specific questions. I think they are the authorized US repair center.

Do a search on http://www.ezonemage.com. I spent months making the same decision and after reading about all the feedback (Orbit vs. Schulze) I got a Schulze 636 and I'm very happy with it.

Hey. Is this going to be the last charger you ever buy?

Unlikely.

Just get one of the two and worry about what to get later when battery technology changes again.

Orbit is the one...

I first made a mistake and bought a Triton from Great Planes. I returned all three in the course of 6 months and they gave me a refund. They were terrible for Lead Acids and Lithiums!

I then bought an Orbit Microlader V6.21 and later got a upgrade (V6.3) from RadicalRC.com who is the exclusive USA Service Center.

The charger is great. No annoying fan. Backlit display. Computer Interface. Very well built (all metal). Nice features once you play with it enough and understand the menus and setup. Super charger!

Here is an inside pic. Quality thoughout.

Good luck with you choice!

Orbit

I just started playing with my Orbit and thus far it is awesome!!! Seems to be really well built and I like the idea of replacing a eprom when new software becomes available. Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree with hpilotrc

Orbit has the German Quality and is't built tough to do the job right. Go with orbit all the way.

PS I also bought the GP Triton, but gave up with it.

Even though it's costs much less, how do you feel the
Astro Flight 109D compares to these?

I don't think the Astro Flight is close. Take a look at the Schulze 330. It's the best under $200 charger available.
