Im looking for input about the Airtronics 92065 PCM receiver. A buddy of mine has one Im thinking about buying to put in an XCEL gasser. I guess they came with the RD 6000 Super for awhile. I know its only 6 channel opposed to the new 92186 which is 8 channel but Im looking for any coments or problems the Runryder crew has had with them. Thanks in advance.

The 92065 RX is a 512 resolution Quick Response unit that was the standard RX for the Infinity 660. To my knowledge, that is the only TX that was capable of encoding to it.

I have the RX in my inventory and still have an I660. This RX was the precurser to the Stylus series and the 200us encoding scheme. Test the RD's and see if the RX works with it. I don't think it will. The RX worked flawlessly. I used it in a Kalt Baron 30 for quite a while.

I talked to Airtronics and was told it was the PCM receiver sold with the RD 6000 (if you got the PCM option) untill the RD 8000 came out. It has been replaced with the 92186 because the RD 8000 and the 92186 are 8 channel and the 92186 can be used with the RD 6000 also. The 92065 is only a 6 channel reciever.

If you talked to Airtronics then there is nothing that anyone can add to that. Why are we here talking about it?

Brian and Rick are the shizznittzz when it comes to this stuff. Do this though, call them and ask them if they can actually put their hands on a 92065 with the old style ATX connectors, if this actually what you are talking about. Does the RX in question have the Z connectors or the older connectors?

There is nothing in the RD 6000 Super/RD 6000 Sport/RD 8000 manual that says this is a compatible RX.

The 92065 is a black case RX, 512 resolution, hi speed PCM with a gold label on the front and old style ATX pinouts. It is possible that ATX doubled up on the numbers, I just need to know what you have.

Im sorry TMoore, I wasnt very clear the 92065 I am talking about is the 92056Z and has a blue case. Aparently this was a popular RX untill the 92186 came out. I want ahead a bought it from by buddy, we will see how it works.
