I have a problem with my TT 50. The carb keeps coming loose. I have tightened and tightened the two half's that are used to hold the carb on the engine. Does anyone have any advice on keeping the carb tight. If my wife would not kill me I'd buy a new OS 50. Thanks for the help.

Use a longer bolt and put a nut on the end of it. I used a drop of threadlock and that worked for me, it's never come loose yet.

Mine did the same thing when it was new. It was the two halves were coming together too soon and when you tightened them they couldn't go anywhere. I took them out dremeled the ends and put it back together and voila! they held the carb nice and tight and no more problems!

Hope this helps!

Can't remember what size, I seem to remember they were a size smaller than the standard bolts.

Have you tried some thread lock?

Check the crank case around where the carb lock goes thru, I over tightened mine (tho I did'nt think so at the time) & it cracked allowing the 2 halves to come together.

There's not a lot of meat around that area & easy to do, IMHO.
