Higher, higher!!

FAI guys run their headspeeds around 1950 and Im pretty sure that some of them uses the std. plastic head.
I ran my around 1950rpm before changing to the EX yoke.

Kind of shocking that the 4mm grip bolts can handle those RPMs....

I ran my X-spec with the 7.92 ratio at 1900rpm with no trouble at all. It also had 4mm blade bolts. I would say the max rpm would have more to do with what gear ratio you are running, what motor/muffler combo you are using and also the blades you have.

I run 1700 for hover and 1900 for 3D.

I am setting a freya up for drag racing.

I have always heard spin it as fast as you dare and hold on.

I went from 1950 @ 7.92 to 1740 @ 8.45 (1560 for hover) with 80durometer dampers.

Hi,

1430 for hovering & 1800 (stock dampeners) for 3d works for me on a non pumped cspec @ 7.92.

Just expeirment a little as your motor / pipe / fuel combo may like something different.

I think he's referring to the blade grip bolts which
are in fact 4mm but they are special hardened,
definitely NOT your basic black alloy 12.9

But of course, Augusto is right. Those 5mm
bolts are what holds the grip onto the
spindle.
