Hello,

I have the GY401 on my Sceadu EVO 30 my question is the directions say that in AVCS mode the light on the GY should be steady red and normal mode should steady blink.

I have the Futaba 9ch radio and I have the high set to AVCS 90% and the low set to norm 50%. The heli/gy seems tp perform as advertised except the light is steady blinking all the time. I am not sure why it won't go steady in AVCS mode. I have it assigned to switch F.

Thanks for the Help
Sean

the 401 MUST be powered up in AVCS/HH mode.

Depending on the flash pattern and what you've
said, you're either powering up in non-AVCS
mode and/or you have some amount of
rudder trim/offset in the system.

Depends on whether it's a 'doubleflash' or
an 'intermittent flash'.

Make sure you don't have the gyro INH in the transmitter.

Power up in HH mode, and then flip your switch on and off three times.
This sets the gyros center.

Good luck,

Scott

Hi Sean,

I'm not sure if the 9C works like the older 8U so try this. Set your norm value to something less than 50.

If the light stops blinking (must cycle power to receiver) then consider the 50 percent mark to be zero gain. As you increase the number towards 100 the gain increases in avcs mode. When you decrease the number from 50 towards zero, you increase the gain in norm mode. Of course servo reversing has an effect on which side of 50 is what mode. This is how the 8U works.

Hope this helps

Jeff

Again Thanks RR you pointed me in the right direction and it is set up right now and works great. Can some one tell me why you wouldn't use HH?

Hi Sean,

I carry the heli to the pad in normal mode, then switch to HH before flying. By doing this, I avoid having to recenter the tail before liftoff.

I generally leave the gyro in HH unless I'm checking the trim of the T/R.
