HB started to twitch severly, it seems to happen randomly every few minutes when flying kind of like there would be a intermittent short. I went over the wiring and found nothing, the heli might go 3-4 minutes without doing so then it gets hit and recovers. Anyone experience this?

I've been having the same problem, and I can't root-cause it either. What kind of receiver do you have? When I put my berg in the HB, the twitching went away. Might be a good time to invest in a nice RX.

Guys, make sure that radio wire is hanging freely from bottom of hb and not wrapped around ANYTHING, including tail boom

Solution

I also started getting severe twitching today with no modifications. I was totally clueless as to why it was happening and disconnected and reconnected everything. I also tried several antenna position variations. Finally I discovered the source of the problem.

I have been using the stock motor solidly for 3 weeks and just recently it has been "squeeking" more than normal. I unplugged the main rotor from the mixer and upped the throttle, everything was OK no twiching or changing rotor speed. Then I unplugged the tail rotor and plugged in the main rotor. It runs ok untill about 1/4 throttle then it gets noisy the rotor speed started fluctuating and the servos went crazy. RF noise!

From what I hear I have had good usage out of the stock motor. I shouldve realised earlier! Because of this the heli flipped around confusing my brother when he was flying and he ploughed it, breaking both blades and the main rotor head yoke (well actually he fractured the blades and I snapped it clean off!).

So all you guys with twitching (tail, servos and throttle) try disconnecting the main rotor cable from the mixer and see if that fixes it.

Im on my way to the hobby shop in a minute and more durable main motor, but I don't want to buy new mixer etc., which one(s) are recommended?

My glitching was very occasional, and my antenna didn't touch any carbon fiber, metal, or other wires; it's routed through a plastic tube that is connected to the struts using fuel tubing. I run a brushless setup too, so brushed noise isn't an issue.

It would only glitch after about 1/2 battery, and when it hit it would take the heli right out of the air (tail would lose lock, heli would drop like a rock). The easy solution was to throw my nice berg RX in there, but at $50 a pop, they're a bit pricey. If you can even find them! I'd buy another one in a heartbeat, but no one has them in stock.
