Galifrey is the one to ask this
Personally I would definitely go with the MP2Q but I've never tried a Hatori with this combination.

Didn't make it last year due to transporting No1 son to uni .. this year I'm much more hopeful

but betwixt cup and lip ...

Hatori 540 doesnt seem to work well on the OS50 at 8.5:1 so you probably did right going for the MP2Q...

Well I have both and thats what I use

Reesy -

I'm on 9.6 - man that OS loves to rev with the MP2

Fuel consumption is still high though - I get about the 9-10 mins mark in ID1/2 I am interested that the MP2 gives about the same economy as the Zimmermann though (thanks Firestarter).

I haven't got round to putting a larger tank in though yet.

Hope that is useful

OS 50 and Hatori 540 on R50 gearing just aint happy unless your in the serious danger head speed zone it was better on the 30 gearing but still not as sweet as what the MP2 will be.

Ah .. now then

Well I get about 8 mins with my zimmy and thats on the large tank .. I learned auto's the hard way with the stock tank

Been trying SAB 640's (that's why I was running the 9.6 gearing) flew sweet as a nut once I'd dialed in the Cspec carb .. teeny auto .. 6 inches up tail goes round ..next thing BANG ..talk about the tail wagging the dog

Real shame as I'd have loved to bring it to Goole ..gonna be touch and go if I can fettle it up ..

What were you running before the MP2 and has your fuel consumption gone up or down?

My guess is Firestarter was referring to a Rap50?

Reesy - I run SAB 92 tails with NHP 620 blades. They are quite close on the Voyager but do not hit.

I'm surprised that you only got 8 mins though on the big tank.. mind you my OS50 is modified with a semi- balanced crank and ceramic rear bearing so it is quite smooth. Maybe that has altered the fuel consumption. The engine has had about 17-18 gallons through it so it is well run in

Previous exhaust was a modified Raptor 50 exhaust (still had that kicking about after I sold the raptor ) Fuel economy actually appears slightly better as my Idle up flight time is now equivalent to what it was in normal with the old exhaust. I don't think I can attribute this to the exhaust though as there is obviously a load of re-tuning into the equation for the new pipe.

toppo - if you were asking me then no not a raptor - it's a JR Voyager.

hi

yeah i was talking about a raptor !!

flew it today @1900 head, seems to be a good pipe way better than the zimmerman i used before hand. i just need to sort out the mid range tomorrow. when i go from full pos to full neg fast, the engine seems to miss in the transition and nearly cuts out, i think maybe it was a bit lean on the bottom end any sugestions guys!!

regards mark

MPII on OS50

I just got my new MPII and the power is a very nice improvement. I use a GV-1 and have settings of Norm-1650 rpm, Idle up1-1750, & Stunt 2-1850 rpm. With the GV-1 off the heli runs at around 1500rpm. The OS50 stays on the pipe in any position, but the sound is great at 1750 rpm. The new version is not as loud as the 1st version. My hat is off to Curtis, GREAT product and product support.

Needle Setting

My needle is set 1 full turn out. I agree the motor sounds better and runs great with the GV-1 @1750 rpm is a great running speed for the engine.

MP2 Tuning

Is there a distinct increase in noise with the MP2 50 Q when you hit the sweet spot in the tuning? I noticed a substantial increase in power and noise, so I backed off (richened the engine) because I was afraid of running too lean. Is this the case?
