Did you order your's at the same time as Ryan ? I had a e mail to confirm my order from Bob Li and another telling me when it had been sent with a tracking number. Mind the tracking is not that good all it tells me is that it left the USA on the 29th seemed funny as it was coming from Hawaii

R30 carbon ccpm

Hi Gordon the gentleman that designed the frames is in Hawaii,,as far as a 60 goes Don't think so I placed my 0S70 next to the last holes on the frames and from the looks of it the bell would touch the red gear..but I think your 50 is gonna make it scream it feels very light, the ring that comes with kit fits perfectly on the stock swash. Good luck let me know what you think when you get it.

I am hoping that I can get the CCPM lower part for my Quick UK swash plate rather than use the ring.

As for the 60 I will have to have a look if there is a way I will give it a go.The OS 50 is proving not to be that reliable the dreaded rear bearing they don't last long and don't talk to me about the mod

The ring will be fine, and it will be spaced correctly for the frame geometry.. the QUK one may not be

galifrey,

We typically e-mail you the express mail tracking number but we could have made a mistake and forgotten. Anyhow, we shipped out your package on the 28th and have e-mailed you the tracking #.

Thanks,

Okay initial impressions so far are a kit of the highest quality..

Instructions could be improved but thats normal for most kits...

When building pay particular attention to the orientation of the upper frames as its not totally clear and you have to dissassemble a lot by the time you notice

If you have an OS50 with 60B carb, this heli is a beyatch to get the engine in the frames, be warned...

The belt idler pulleys give instructions to fit the pins with loctite... I felt this was too risky so replaced the 3mm pins with a 3mm bolt and nyloc.. my pulleys wont be falling out

So far the fit and finish has proven to be excellent, I will post some pics tomorrow when my cam is charged.... these will focus on the areas of particular interest and build helpers...

Additonal tips so far...

1. The existing swash balls are fitted with red loctite.. you have to re-use those screws... bear this in mind during removal and apply local heat.

2. The fan shroud screws are not the meatiest, so recommend CA on the threads of the self tappers..

Will insert more above...

Just wondering if this upgrade would make it easier to fit a Rappy in a scale fuse? Not sure I would want to hide that sweet looking frame though

Okay some important pics of the bits to get right...

thats the idler with its new 3mm shanked bolt to avoid potential problems, hopefully RC products will include this in future kits...

heres the left hand upper frame... make sure you get this right, I didnt...

I think mine is still in the air no it came into the UK last night 530pm so the tracking tells me. If it comes today and the rest of the parts I have got coming for it arrive. Then it should be in the air tomorrow if I pull a late one and it stops raining. I am still waiting to hear from Quick UK about the swash and other part's for it.

the QUK swash will probably be the wrong geometry so I would just forget that if I was you...

The swash ring is a perfect fit and very tight...

Now you have got me why would the Quick swash not work it is a 120 CCPM ? I want to use it as the rest of the head that I will be using is Quick UK .

Does any one know where to get a carbon boom to match the frames ? I have found fin's to match

What was the problem fitting the OS engine ? If it hard to get a 50 in a 60 has no chance then .Still it looks like I have another day to sort part's out as it has not come yet must be born to go slow.

Janek

wait til u see my latest pics.. this is a constructive review, not a U-Turn..

The U-Turn will be if I dont sell it

Gordon

The geometry depends on teh distance between the balls and the main mast, not just the degrees between the balls..

Just gonna upload latest pics and findings, then will post again

Fitting the CY MP2Q highlighted a problem, the bolt was too long and needed cutting down to fit within the frames, I also had to delete the spring washer as it forced the nut onto the frames, vibration would have holed the frames, it still might...

here she is in all her high vis glory, slightly tail heavy even with 2000mah sub-c nicad up front, but may be due to my tail mounted servo... this was balanced holding on its side by the main shaft with half a tank of fuel..

damn autofocus cams

Fear that bling...

Gyro mount barely big enough for SL560, but the micro will still look lost on it...

Note the perfect geometry on the throttle link for +/-95 ATV...

Still some tidying of cables to do, and final tightening of frame bolts just to be sure but the quality of this kit is second to none I have seen...

Now for some observations...

Firstly I was very surprised to see very little interaction on fast extreme collective throws and extremes of collective using fast cyclic, nice job on the geometry guys..

The Pitch range is an easily achieved +/- 12 degrees which is great for those who want to max out extreme 3d autos and kill the last of the blade speed... (I settled for +/-10 degrees )..

I think the kit might have been further enhanced by the carbon baseplate that TT include with the 50 but it just plain will not fit, hopefully it will prove superfluous in flight testing as....

This heli is not stiff, it is completely rigid!! the extra large frame spacers can be omitted for weight savings or included for extra rigidity...

I have to say the bling factor of this product is massive, the pics dont do the carbon fibre justice, as to whether it will improve its flight characteristics I cannot comment, but the improvement in pitch range will be welcomed by a few people I suspect...

Hope to fly this weekend and you can be assured I will put it in the hands of decent 3d pilot for thrash testing... I'll stick with me FFF loops and rolls for now...
