What does your local flying club charge as an annual renewal fee?

Life is tough, it's tougher if you're stupid

Posted by Rafael23cc on 01-08-2009 03:51 AM:
To get a more accurate "feel" for the variation in "fees", you need to also ask if the club leases the land from a private individual or entity or from a public entity.

My club leases the land from the Corps of Engineers at Milford Lake, Kansas. We got an extremely good deal for 25 years a few years ago. The yearly fee is $25.

I fly at 3 clubs, The first is the biggest and best, its among the best flying fields in the country as far as setup, location, and overfly area. That club is 60 a year and we own the land (10acres). The other is a smaller 50 member club that is 20 a year, its still a pretty nice field and it is in a guys backyard basically. the last one is the closest to me and is free (also a guys backyard), it is also good setup. I am blessed with awesome flying sites but not a lot of heli guys to fly with!

25/20 going up to 50/20 next year, world class facility

36/20 world class facility but no separate heli flight line

60/0 dirt patch with a mowed, almost flat runway, but it's close to the house

Club dues
I also belong to N.O.M.A.C. New Orleans Model Aviation Club. Dues $200.00 yr. This for two full size flying fields. One Heli and one for planes. Field is leased and our lease holder has 5 grass cutting machines and the grass is cut by the lease holder. No club meetings, no grass cutting, 20 minutes from the house, just go fly. Love it.

It's $80.00 a year. That covers the Electricty bill, mowing,

portapoty, ect... Only a few miles from home.. They aren't

Un-freindly to helis.. But they like to keep us seggregated.

Can't wait till the funfly in October.. No planks alowed....
