Go into the heli forum... there's a ton of information there if you search for the Logo. There has been allot of chat lately about Gary Wright's high KV motor setup with less cells.... The guys who are running 14 cells to do hard 3D are popping speed controllers left and right.

I'm using a B50 11L on 12 cells. It will work on 10 cells and a larger pinion, but flight times get too low for me. With 13 tooth pinion and 12 3000 HV cells, I get roughly 8 minutes, from 6 to 7 of smooth 3D (notice I said smooth 3D, not jerking it around like an angry hornet), and another minute or two of climbs and autos. If you don't fly smoothly with electric, the surges in current really kill flight time, not to mention speed controls, motors, gears,..yada yada.

rcman:

Gary is the MAN on motors for 3D. Gary likes the B50-11L (Kv 2195), Mikado recommends the B50-15L (Kv 1610), I decided to go in between with a B50-13L (Kv 1858). I will use a 14t or 15t pinion.

I went with a Schulze future 45Ho. That seems to be the almost universal chouce for a ESC.

Logo Parts:

Here are the part numbers, RC-Direct should have them.

Mikado fibreglass blades Sym 500mm Part #2712
(I prefer FUNKEY Sym 530mm fiberglass, cost a lot less)
Thrust Bearing Set # 2345
O-rings for 3D #2756
Auto-rotation Hub #2731
Tail boom brace #2761
CF fin and stab #2780 and #2781
(or can use about any 30 size heli CF fin and stab)
Aluminium Swash #2366

All that you really must have is the auto hub and thrust bearings, and good blades. The rest are "nice to have".

Brad.

I weighted some carbon tailfins from my Raptor 30 and they were over double the weight of stock Logo 10 tail fins. The Logo 10 is very tail heavy already so if you get a 3rd party tail fins, get the lightest ones you can find.

I too got a B50-13L on order. Hope it's not as disappointing as the B50-15L.

"The Logo 10 is very tail heavy already"

What's tail heavy? I would define tail heavy as being when the stock heli cannot balance at the mast when the batteries and radio gear are placed in the recommended positions. I would call the Voyager tail heavy because I could only use the front battery holder to get it to balance my box-stock configuration. My stock LOGO 10 balanced just like one would expect, using the recommended placement of the radio gear. Did you use the specified 2400mah cells? The batteries are meant to stick a way out front. I try to think of them as crash damage absorbers

Cheers!

Cheers!

I looked on the Web and the two sites that I know about {RC DIRCET, FXAEROMODELS} don't list the hacker B50 11L and the ESC is out of stock. Is there anywere else that I can order these items from

David:

Finding them in the US is difficult. If you don't mind ordering from Germany try Hoellein. There prices are very good and if shipped to the US they discount the VAT tax from the price. The prices are in Euro so as a rough approximation the USD price is 75% of the price list.

Just ordered my Hacker B50-11L and Schulze 45Ho ESC for $299 from:

http://www.cyberheli.com

Price is definitely great and he has em in stock. Couldnt find anyone in the US with the motor and ESC either

While at Cyberheli, you might pick up a few more things. They have the aluminum swash and Mikado 500mm glass blades for $59 each! Shipping is fast and less than $30 when using Speed Post. Stephen has the motors and ESCs in stock now - and I want it now

Hey Jason,

You are not going to get your motor NOW, you gotta wait for the washout base for the VEP :-)

Doh! Forgot about the 2 week delay on that washout base - darned lil' Voyager E always holding me back

Any chance you could put a rush on that washout for me? Hehe

Guess I should start building the heli so its ready when the goodies arrive shouldnt I? Right now I have a Raptor 50 kit, Caliber 30, JR Venture 30 and the Logo 10 ready to be built - anyone know a good heli builder in Las Vegas? So many toys, so little time
