I broke a boom support today and was just wondering...is there any reason why I can't just mash the end flat and drill a hole and reuse the broken support? I know that I would need to do the same to the other to make them match in length but that shouldn't be a problem. It would only be about a quarter inch shorter. I know that the horizontal fin would need to move forward a little. I didn't see any reason why this would be a problem either. Am I missing something?

It will not be a problem. I put some carbon boom supports on and my boom fin moved up by more than an inch and a half. No problems, so don't be afraid to do it. BTW, don't do it too many times or they'll be 2 inches long!

I used to do that all the time. Then I started using carbon arrow shafts. I have a few friends that hunt so I have a free source of shafts.

My problem isn't with the supports breaking, but with the frame breaking off where the support screws in.

How much are arrow shafts anyway? I bought a setup of CNC support ends and carbon shafts, then promptly blew them up in a crash and lost one of the ends :-( I am back to stock Rappy supports.

Shafted

I spent 5 bucks for one shaft at my Shop. I could make 2 shafts with it. But if you have access to an archery club you could ask them to see if anyone has some broken ones. They mostly break the off at the tip and still have plenty left to make a boom.
