My Posts This: Topic Forum | Hey buddy, you've helped me out a few times so far. Maybe the next time I'm in kalamazoo, I'll look you up (that will probably be next year some time). Thanks.
Anyway, I will probably just get an M1 30 mount from airfoil to start though. Before spending a lot of time building a mount, I would like to see whether or not this will work out. Like I said, I can probably sell an airfoil mount and get most of my money back out of it if it doesn't pan out, but I can't get time doing R&D back..... plus I really don't have the resources to do that right now (my worktable is my kitchen table, the wife really doesn't like that much anyway). Also, my first baby is due on Feb 25th and I think that will probably take some more of my "resources" away.
I believe that you should do it though. You seem to be gaining a massive amount of knowledge about the system, and I would like to see what you come up with.
I've seen some of the posts out there kicking you around a bit, and I don't agree! If everybody was just satisfied with what is out there, then where would we be? It's the American spirit that made us what we are, if we lose that, where will we go? Some of those people are just focusing on the quick buck, not building a business.
Also, about the money. There are 365 days a year and you will probably only work 280. Lets say you profit $200 a day. That's $56000. Subtract the cost of the helicopters, fuel, repairs, etc. That will probably drop you down to $45K. Then taxes. That drops takehome to $31K, and that's if you are doing it by yourself. More than likely you'll have to hire someone, so you pay them $10/hr and you are down to $15K takehome. Then you have the liability of crashing into someone or something. I wouldn't quit my dayjob for this! THIS IS NOT A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME! It's going to take work to get this off the ground successfully.
That's just my two cents
I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for this!
