It would certainly help you maintain a steady altitude, especially with the added weight of camera gear slung under your heli.

I see only one advantage of using a governor and this is why I use one. There are frequencies where the mount will resonate and you want to avoid these. I place a laser pointer on top of my camera and observe the dot on a wall. Then play with the RPM to find what value produces the least vibrations. When I get that I program it as a fixed value in the GV-1 and use this all the time.
