Stolen Goods

That is really sad how some people would do that. I am all about getting good deals because i hate paying for 'new' items but stealing is a bit ridulous. I try to be as honest as I can be but I guess there are some sour apples out there.....

I have bought from Ricks before, they are always very quick to ship, and are very honest .. its a shame they have to deal with crap like this, as well as all the other businesses out there ....

besides hurting the business owners, this also hurts us, the consumers .. in the long run, we pay more because of higher prices which are needed to make up for stollen merchandise ..

I like the fact that Ron Lund has the good sense and refusal of being politicaly correct to post this information. I like a person who calls them as he see's them. Thanks to Ron for helping to skim the scum.

I had some jackarse steal a header that ups left on the doorstep that I bought from ricks...they were nice enough to send another out. Needless to say I take time off work when I expect a package to arrive.

They are probably using it as a smoking pipe or something...Glad it wasnt a few weeks before when I had a whole order of servos and stuff out there.

What gets me is the people who don't need to steal in the first place. The people who could buy it outright anyway. I can't stand people who are always trying to get over on others or will steal something even though they don't know what it is or what it is for and how much it's really worth.

Years ago I was a poor kid working at a hobby shop, recycling my paychecks for hobby goods. We had a part time guy who was a manager at a major missle defense company and made a fantastic living. He raced gas boats and we fired him after years of stealing us blind. 2 years later the local boat club folded when this jackass stole all the funds as club treasurer.

This clown had no need to steal and could afford anything, but he still chose to rip us off- for the thrill, to be cheap, who knows what his reasons were? I'm glad that Rick's posts this and I hope the other heli dealers do the same!

I had the UPS guy attempt to deliver a package to my door and when I was on Temp assignment in Houston. When I got to my door there was the standard note on the door that he was leaving the package in the rental office. I went there immediately and actually saw the truck leaving the apartment complex. I go inside asking for my packakge an THEY ( two people) said that UPS didn't drop anyhting off that day. Hmmm? OK you think either the UPS driver is lying or the Office staff is. However, this bozo driving the truck, is the same one who put a note on my neighbor's door that a UPS Red letter had to be P/U'd at the UPS Center about 20 miles away. He goes there, and the letter w/ a $13,000.00 expense/relocation check was for me.

So I tend to think it was the UPS driver. Besides there was a sting operation here in S Florida a few years back where they nailed a bunch of UPS employees doing exactly what I descibed, (claiming to make a delivery but not) and selling the goods at a pawn shop. I think it was a few hundred thousand dollars in claims before they nailed them.

Light travels faster than sound, thats why some people appear so bright UNTIL you hear them speak.

What pisses me off is the people that steal these boxes from the doorstep dont even know what it is they are taking. Even after opening the package i bet they still dont know what the hell it is they took.

Have a neighbor keep an eye out for the BBT (big brown truck). Our driver goes by the house during the same hour every day.

I might not be very good, but I'm fun to watch.

Better yet, see if the shipper would use the US Postal Service. Send it so you have to sign for it. It may be an inconvenience in some cases but not as much as if it gets stolen.

Are you on the list?

ups

I also had a problem with UPS. I was expecting a package from Hobby Lobby. The tracking info on the web site said it had been delieved, and left by the back door. I search for awhile and found nothing. I informed Hobby Lobby and UPS supervisor. They sent someone over and said the guy who made the delivery had quit. Hobby Lobby was kind enough to send a replacment package. However they used Fedex on that delievery. There was about $400. in parts for my Eco8

Charlie

Is it the weekend yet?

There are some truly sorry @$$ people out there. I did something dumb and paid the price.

I sold a brand new JR DS8311 servo to a buddy. I went home on my lunch break to pick it up so I could ship it to him. I set it on the trunk of the car and made a mental note to myself to not forget about it when I walked to the curb to roll the trash can back into the garage.

Of course I drove off with the dang servo on the trunk! When I pulled onto the main road, I saw a pickup truck stop and the driver get out. I didn't think too much of it until I got to work and started looking for the servo.

It still had the price tag on the box ($99.99) and I know they just saw that and figured it must be worth keeping. Even though they had no idea what is or what it's used for.

I ran a lost and found ad for two weeks and never heard anything. And I live in a small town where everybody pretty much knows everybody else.

The very best way to get UPS packages is to have them delivered to your work place. Here's why:

You will normally get it earlier in the day. Most UPS routes deliver to commercial addresses in the morning and residential in the afternoon.
If you get it around noon, it's a good excuse to take the rest of the day off :-)

You don't have to worry about someone stealing it off your porch.
Your shipping and receiving guy is a good guy to know.

It's cheaper. Did you know there is a surcharge for a residential delivery? Give the buck and a half to the shipping and receiving guy, you'll both be better off :-)

If it's impossible to have it delivered to work, make arrangements with a neighbor to receive the package. Leave a note for the UPS guy to deliver it next door. Tape a Snickers bar to the note. Get to know your UPS driver. They usually run the same route for 6 months to a year and in smaller communities, you might have the same UPS guy for years.

For what it's worth I have never had anything taken from my door and my UPS driver is a great guy , brings treats for my dogs when he comes. Unlike the DHL driver that put the package down and ran off of my steps when I opened the door to get the package.

You know how those Golden reterivers put the fear of god into anyone...LOL
