Everyone needs a helping hand every now and again, but how about a routine drug and alcohol test for welfare recipients to continue to stay on the dole?

Gotta make sure that helping hand isn't enabling a habit.

And proven time after time that very few were even on any drugs. The program they tried cost more than the amount of money they saved by those caught on drugs.

I curious if that is true, can you give a link to some real data ?

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

I doubt this, but that also depends on the agency conducting it.

I was a SACO for my last 4 years (added responsibility) in the Corps, and I had a 100% conviction rate of those that tested positive. Random UA's were taken on a weekly basis, and those that 'popped' admitted to it.

There are a lot of factors that go into it. COC, and etc.

Cost? I can't comment on that, but I do know it is not cheap.

My current company uses swabs and saliva and the test is instant. How accurate it is? IDK since I don't do illegal drugs and didn't 'pop'.

I completely agree with...

it's got to be cheaper than to give some user $10 or $15 thousand for a year or two, or longer

Unconstitutional my @ss. You want free hand outs, free food, free or section 8 housing, so and so forth, PROVE to me, the hard working American Tax Payer, that you are doing YOUR PART to find a job, better yourself, be active in your community, and not be a burden on the American Society.

Absolutely...you are not forced to take welfare, you choose to, and a drug test should be the requirement.

Is it unconstitutional to test me to make the money they take?

Haha...these same Constitutional Couch Scholars tells us that illegals have the same rights as US citizens.

If you receive tax dollars, you can stipulate what you need to do to get said tax dollars. This falls outside the bounds of the Constitutionm which doesn't mandate welfare either.

The other side is dangerously naive.

Constitutional rights don't change on a case by case basis. It's either constitutional or not. Just because some swinging dick doesn't like welfare recipients we should Infringe on their rights. Please. I haven't seen anything in US history that is remotely as stupid as this........

Ummmm, they certainly do. What do you call imprisonment???
As far as costs, yes it is pricey, but that's why you do it randomly.... and not all that often. But it does need to be done.

The right to privacy refers to the concept that one's personal information is protected from public scrutiny. U.S. Justice Louis Brandeis called it "the right to be left alone." While not explicitly stated in the U.S. Constitution, some amendments provide some protections.

I copied this

You have a right to elect people in your area (State) and have your states welfare eliminated, but your state and not the Constitution decides that.
