Need help with the gov settings...

Trex700 DFC
Os 105hz-r
AR7210BX
30% Byron Fuel
DX8GEN2

I can seem to get the gov to spool up
What settings should I use in the gov settings?
Its plugged in to the AUX2 ch.
On?
Flight Mode?
Thr. Stick?
Any help would be great.

I'm in the break in stage of the the motor as well.
Neddle settings?

I'm finally getting back into flying and the new tech stuff is great but comfusing.

The motor is running but a lot of oil out the pipe.

Thanks,
Mark Mobile Alabama.

I see it has been a while since posting so I don't know if you have it answered yet or not.

Since I just set one up for a friend of mine the other day, and presuming you haven't found an answer, let me make a couple of notes

First the sensor that is provided with the 700 uses that really small connector (forgot its name). You either change it and put a JR Male connector on it (which I did), or get an adapter and it is plugged into Aux 2 port

Second, if you do put a proper connector on it you have to make a pin configuration change

A normal servo wiring pinout would be

1 - White(Orange) - Signal
2 - Red - Power
3 - Black - Ground.

Unfortunately this sensor does not follow this convention for the 7120BX. The configuration needs to be

1 - While (Orange) - Signal
2 - Black - Ground
3 - Red - Power

for it to work.

Then of course you have to go through all of the setup on the 7120. On the one parameter (not in front of it at the moment so cannot remember the letter), when the magnet passes under the sensor, a blue light should come on the 7120.

Most likely your sensor isn't seeing the magnet because it is not wired correctly. Once you do this, it should see it and all will be good providing you have everything else set up correctly (throttle curves, etc)

As for needle settings, start at 2 turns on the high and 1 1/2 on the mid. From there it depends how good you are at flying, can you do big continuous power loops or a full pitch banked circle/hurricane? These manoeuvers will keep the heli on the high needle and it's best to do them with no clouds or wind so you can clearly see the smoke trail and hear the motor. Also straight after these manoeuvers flick throttle hold and auto down and listen to the engine, is it hanging? (Lean) or going straight to idle? (rich), it wants to hang for 1-2 seconds then go to a steady idle.

Once your high is there abouts you can look at the smoke going from a full pitch climb out to zero pitch, if the smoke increases or plumes your mid is too rich. If it is smoking like crazy in a hover and bogs briefly when giving sudden full pitch the mid is too rich. If there isn't much smoke in a hover and it sounds tinny and hangs on the pipe when hitting throttle hold, the mid is too lean.

Remember to go back and check your high after tuning your mid.

Next see how it idles. If the idle sounds to go higher and lower it's too lean, if it's spitting fuel out it's too rich. Pinch the fuel line an inch from the carb and note if the engine revs up or just quits. It should rev up slightly for 3-4 seconds before dying.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Let us know how you make out. Richard's settings on the carb are way richer than mine but his are safe to start and work your way in. Probably will start out with his but end up closer to where I am
