Alishanmao did a similar model back in 2011 but more based on the machines from Avatar.

Not the first

Yes, I've seen this one and a few others(quads)over the last couple of years and as I stated in my first post, I knew I wasn't the first nor was it my own idea. But after seeing the first one, I knew I had to try and make my own. And the few I've seen all looked like a quad was just bolted to a top of a fuse and I knew I wanted to make one that looked like it was a total integrated type design and something that was designed from the ground up. And I feel that the BO105 was the best choice for this project. I'm really looking forward at doing some test flying to see how much weight can be added in the way of body work and details to make it look like a true experimental machine (from either the past or future). Sweet!!

Mark, don't take this as me being nice to you
I think your gonna have a good looking fun machine when completed...
Tough choice on the tail boom question.. maybe as you get a little more finished an idea might pop...
How about a spinney thing (free wheeling) just a thought for a little more cool factor...

Mark, I had an idea but I just read that Stan beat me to it, lol. Getting close to air time.

Ready for some testing

Made the GPS sensor mount but didn't realize that I used a metal (magnetic) screw to mount the pad onto the doghouse. I may have to change it to an aluminum screw if I have problems with the GPS.

Also completed the wiring and setup.

I did get to do a short hover on Sunday but it was very windy and it wasn't holding very well in GPS mode. Then I realized that I never calibrated the Naza/GPS controller so hopefully I'll get to do more testing/flying this weekend but the weight doesn't seem to be an issue at this point.

And by the way Stan, before you say something about the color of the blades, I've ordered a number of different black ones (2 and 3 bladed ones) for testing. Mark
