My choice is and will most likely always be Align.
They offer affordable models and almost everybody sells their parts.

The other brands are either too expensive or the replacement parts are limited to online shopping ( has anyone seen the price of shipping lately :eek

Mikado logo.

I thought the 600 was great. I just test flew my 550 and am even more impressed.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

All the more reason to pass on align. While everybody carries parts. No one ever has every part you need. So you have to pay multiple shipping charges ordering from two or three places. Synergy and mikado is a more one stop shop. Go to there page get everything in one place. Way easier not to mention much higher quality.

lol you're hillarious I can get all my parts from 1 source and locally if I choose to wait.
or I can order online from 1 source in my country.

the price for mikadoo plastic is far too expensive for what you get. Synergy is much like Audacity a 2 man shop about to close the way things are going in this shrinking Hobby.
then add shipping and duties for those parts not worth it. IMO

Mikados plastic is overly expensive is a myth.

The blade grips are only $14, not expensive for a 600 size and they can take a crash extremely well without breaking.

The Align main gears are about two times the price of the Mikado herringbone gear.

One(1) carbon side frame for a Align 600 is the price of the entire frameset for the Logo which includes all bearing blocks and tail block. The worst crash possible and its $60 to the frames for the Logo. The Align? $120 for just side frames to start.

Aligns main, tail shafts, boom, and belt is cheaper though. It probably all evens out, ha.

For me, I like the Logo, have liked Mikado since my first flight with one, Todd Bennetts Logo 10 in the early 2000s. Been through good times and bad with them. Nothing in my opinion flies like them and even if in the end they are slightly more expensive...... its worth it.

To each their own, its your hobby and your experience, pick ur poison, spend your money and make great memories!

It is always interesting to hear people with somewhere between zero and no direct knowledge of the financial status of a company predict its demise. Since the owners of the company whose demise is predicted are here on RR, please do PM Matt and Amy, confirm the validity of your supposition, then post their reply. Otherwise, reckless and unsubstatiated comments serve the good of no one.

hmm let's see if a large company like MA and TT can't survive what chances do you think a smaller company has of survival. None they may hang around by strings but they will eventually disappear after the money is gone. This hobby isn't growing it is shrinking almost as fast as it started.

Trolls again?

I never ceases to amaze me how low forum trolls can go with their uneducated comments and unwarranted attacks. These are the exact comments that degrade the quality of forum content. I know they are just looking for a response so in that sense ICUR1-2 you win! Please do introduce yourself at one of the events in the future and I will be sure to hand deliver your participation award.

To all of the loyal Synergy customers out there..... rest assured Synergy is financially stable, sales in 2016 were better than 2015. We have two new designs that are in the prototype stage right now which we are very excited to release this year. Synergy RC Helicopters and the RC helicopter industry will be here long after the trolls have disappeared.

Best Regards,

Matt Botos

Yep! Troll

MA closed its doors long before the market started shrinking. Their reasons for closing had nothing to do with a challenged market. So again, you are commenting on something you know nothing about. This is the definition of a troll.

Large companies are not gauranteed survival any more than small companies. In fact, a large company has much more pressure to produce profit as their overhead is much larger.

No problem, well deserved my friend! I love that you kept Synergy alive and kickin' arse. I remember seeing the first ever Synergy in Todds dimly lit garage, good times.

Fun thread!

It's refreshing to see there are still people who are passionate about heli's!..I still occasionally think about flyin my ole Kyosho epconcept!About Mikado's parts prices..I've never had a problem fitting a Mikado part on my models..I also fly Align..I have had a fair amount of "end user rejects" from Align..different business philosophy..also when you crack a Mikado manual looking for replacement parts..you can find the right numbers..Align..not so good.

I do a great decending funnel!

Wow all this from someone asking which heli to choose.
I'll tell you which one you should choose. Choose the one you like the best. I've been in the hobby for over 10 years and flew just about everything on the market....my chose has stopped at Synergy, just because it's the better heli, FOR ME. Find the one that is the best for you and get that heli.
