Hi dudes,

I will use a T-REX 600 E mechanic for my next scale heli.

From the past I already used this in a Hughes 500D and had problem with tail authority cause I ran low HeadSpeed ( 1200 RPM ) on a 5 blade setup, which flew perfectly well except the tail authority.

Tail RPM was not enough, and it will be even worst in next project ( big 1800 mm UH-1B Huey with even lower HS 1000-1100 ).

So, I'm looking for mods to have high tail rotor gear ratio. Default one is 3.85, I already did the mod on the other mechanic to have the 4.5, but are you aware if I can use T-REX 700 4.95 ( http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t733029p1/ ) on the R-REX 600E, or even if some 3rd parties created some " scale " modification for much higher ( 5, 6 ... ) tail gear ratio for solid Yaw control on slow headspeed scale helis ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Cheers,
Valentin

Surprised not to see any ideas here, none of you encountered this problem before ? Maybe I should post in the scale forum but not sure much people is using T-REX mechanics in a true scale philosophy ..

Thanks though !

If it were belt drive, I could help you. Torque tube is not my thing, sorry.

try using a 3 blade tail since it is a scale or a wider chord tail blade

I'd like to keep the scale blades, with original length and chord.

Maybe there is something to do in the 42° tail gearbox with different bevel gears to change the ratio at that point
