FWIW esc's are happier at 100%. Also if it's a castle esc you can go upto 100% throttle output and it'll still govern OK. If it's telling you there's not enough head room for proper governing in yellow just click on info I think it is and it'll give you an actual throttle percentage, upto 100% is fine. You may be able to get to 1500 with the pinion you already have, 11t?

I'm not sure if it is the right maingear, but I did find n the web a 94 tooth maingear for the older raptor. 500kv times 22.2 volts nominal is 11,100 motor rpms (will be somewhat higher than that, as current generation batteries do hold higher voltage, but 3.7/cell is a good rule of thumb that gives you some leeway). 11100 divided by 1500 results in 7.4 ratio needed. That predicts a pinion requirement of 12.7, so lets say 13 on the pinion. Assuming 94 main, then a 12 pinion would calculate to 1417 and a 13 tooth would calc to 1535.

I completely ignore the castle software warning about "too high for proper governing". they expect a ton of headroom in their calculations and many of us have found out that's not really needed. The "overgearing" from that scenario just results in very hot components, or worse. I still think that's way too high for a 6S 700mm machine, but if you're ok with short flight times, then go for it.

With the lower voltage setup, you'll probably get a lot more sagging under load when at that high rpm, so you may not be happy with performance.

Keep in mind "just a couple hundred more rpms" will require a LOT more power out of the battery, plus much higher surge currents under high load.

Pinion

Yes I have a 94T maingear and a 12T pinion. My esc is a 100A Castle Edge. My problem is if I try to use the gov on it and set it at 1280 or more the esc won't accept it and I don't know how to get past that issue. I would like to get the headspeed to 1350 as my tail blows out pretty easy. Thus the reason for the 13T pinion. I know the 14 or 15 kinda defeats the purpose of a low headspeed heli.

Mine fall down, went BOOM!!

the software may complain that it's not enough headroom, but you can ignore that and it will accept the number. it's only a warning not a hard stop

esc

Ok I set the headspeed at 1325 and it says the esc will be at 105%. Will that hurt it?

No, although the headspeed may drop off slightly towards the end of the flight.

Also that 15T pinion I have would probably over amp your 100A ESC if you weren't careful. I've just spotted that TT have a 91T main gear for the Raptor 60/90 so that would be the way to go. Would only give you a bit more though.

I'm the guy from Texas, and the largest pinion I have is a 12T.
If I could get my hands on a 14T I would play with one of my large four strokes. Last place I saw a 14T was Gasserman. Haven't seen anything from him in years.
