So I am curious to those of you that have set up vplane on your vcontrols. I have set up a silver line on one of my gas planes and have the throttle servo setup old school mechanical due to no curves available for silver line. How do I activate the trim function to be able to adjust idle power?
I know this is definitely not a heli question but I'm sure it's been done?

You just go to the idle in the governor pane and adjust..

I don't have a governor section available. The throttle setup screen has a box that says idle mode but none of the adjustments I make seem to have any effect on the throttle servo.

Do you have the nitro governor app installed and active?

Think I have it figured out! Have to assign the idle to either a switch or knob. And adjust the percentage up to the throttle min position. At that point the knob will move the servo to increase the idle position. If that makes sense!!

I think that's how I did it. I only have one nitro plane, and didn't want to chime in because I'm hardly expert at it having only set it once.

I am curious about the nitro governor app though. I don't have any nitro helis, and never would have thought that a "governor" app would apply to the idle settings of a plane. So, I don't have it installed either.

I'll have to tinker with it to see if that might be a better setup. It is a bit concerning now adjusting the idle point not knowing if I'm affecting the endpoints (throttle closed and WOT). This particular engine is far from set it and forget it. Depending on the weather and prop, idle point can vary as much as 5-6 clicks on a radio with regular trims....that is to say I need to adjust it often. So, an easy access menu would be highly desired.

if it ain't broke, break it.

I was looking again today. I don't think the governor app is applicable to the vplane setup, or at least I can't find it. Gonna take the plane out tomorrow and give it a whirl. Love how it flies on my visionaire.

You wouldn't want a governor on a fixed wing. That's why it isn't there. I've used VPlane with several models now and it works well. Assigning the throttle idle to a rotary is the correct way to go.
