Im pretty much done buying used unless its tools or the like. Last few airframes I bought, every single one of them had some kind of issue not disclosed.

One of them, some of the metal parts had been dented in illogical ways. The main frame had been modified in a way that could best be described as a hack job. Ball links were all mangled by ham handed ball link plier techniques.

Another one had a expensive part sieze that was ruined when trying to remove.

One had a hidden danger. I tore it down and rebuilt it all up and was going to maiden but decided I wanted to change my esc setting. So I unplugged the esc extension wire and one of the wires just came out of the connector. I found that the connector was home made and the guy used PLIERS! on all of the crimp connections and I mean a real hack job at that! I have a pair of $10 crimpers that work perfectly so its not like its anything near expensive to get to do a proper job.

The worst is when they "threw in" batteries to sweeten the deal, they were complete junk batteries!

Heck, with the sales going on nowadays, I figure why bother anymore, seems few people can build a heli to my standards of airworthiness.

Know how you feel, my problem has been lipo batteries. I have bought several lipo batteries from different people and the first thing I ask is, is the battery puffed at all and does it have low cycles. When the battery arrives guess what, slightly puffed or worn out. Now I blame this on myself as well, why buy a used lipo and take a chance?? Last one I bought was supposed to be in good shape, when it arrived it was puffed enough that it wouldn't fit right in my project I was working on. So if you do buy a used lipo, get some good pics of all the sides.....
