@helisp-- yea I am looking forward to what this has to offer,

sorry , I thought you ment I said I played rf-x . which is why I was like huh? so i apologize ,

I agree %100 with your comment on rf 7.5 is all we need, I mean the physics are there , so I guess it boils down to how realistic one would like there experience to be,,

I'm content with rf7.5 buttttttttt,,, theres always room for jello

going pro , one crash at a time

The preview looks pretty good, the graphics do look better. However, I'm most interested in the flight physics. RF 7.5 is good, but I can hover inverted on the sim all day long... not so much in the real world.

the only way to get closer to the real thing is to change the environmental settings for 10mph winds and max out the turbulence...

then link RF to your bank account to withdraw a random amount of money every time you crash.

the truth is there is no substitute for actual field time.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

I remember a thread many years ago where someone asked, "Hey, how real are these new flight simulators?" The reply that stuck with me was someone suggested that they are very real and if you'd like to better approximate the helicopter experience, every time you crash the sim, lean over and smash your computer with a baseball bat.

I've told many new fliers that over the years. Even if they don't get it at the moment I say it, it seems to stick with them.

Unless you have the sim set for high stability
you should be able to do just about anything IRL that you can on the sim

I will practice anything new to me so much that the wife can yap at me the dogs barking and I can look at the clock to see what time it is and still be in control

Before I try it in real life

If I practice that much I don't have problems at the field "most" of the time

ageing is manditory maturity is optional

Lap tops are not ideal for SIM's (due to graphics card, notice how hot it gets when you watch videos)... it's best to run SIM's on a PC platform. I have a Mac Book Pro 2015 and refrain from running SIM on it, but will do CAD and video editing all day.
It really depends on the laptop and what it was designed for. Alienware has been building high end gaming laptops for many years.

Banshee,

I have the difficulty set to the highest setting.

I suppose the pucker factor has something to do with it....

ya think?

there are three ways to hurt someones progress in anything...

their wallet....their ego....and physically.

with a sim your immune to all three. Sims are good, but the real skill is honed at the field.

All of us are 3D GODS on the Sim... but the field is a whole different animal.

I dont care how bada$$ rig you set up, your RF is upgraded to and if you use a recliner on a gimbals with 3d googles and surround sound... you aint gonna develop the skills you need until you practice on the field with a physical heli and all the variables that no software can currently account for.

no risk, no reward

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Indeed. Sims are excellent for muscle memory. Learning to fly can really only happen at the field.

funny you talk of next sim that way..

I feel the same, it feels more realistic at times than realflight in the sence the hs seems to bog more ,

I also like how next has better back drop graphics,
but rf has more advanced field options (fpv, editor, ect)

and on a side note,,

on rf , funnels are easy ,, next they are more realistic , way more imo,
some other moves are also more true to life imo ,
but than again the opposite can be said as well.

like piroflips to me in next are easy as pie, and don't "flow " like they should where as rf7.5 does ..

I guess they all have there pros and cons,
i like the way the sims are going with graphics,,
make for a better experience

I think with all simulators you need to play around with the parameters to get the model to fly like your own model to get that realistic feel.

60% of the time, it works every time!

At a certain point the sim becomes the hobby, as opposed to a teaching aid. If they keep going it will be cheaper to fly and crash an actual bird.

I'll keep my RF4.5 and old laptop.

E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

realistic and simulator should not belong in the same sentence IMHO.

thats like saying Jegens vs KY vs vaseline...which has the more "realistic" feeling...

ever notice that every model in RF has perfect setup? is that reality?

agree 100%
thats what it seems like...

armchair gamer/programmer vs actual model pilot/mechanic/investor

no one is impressed with my ability to piro hover inverted 1 inch off of virtual grass
