Has anyone tried lipos from Roaringtop USA?

Their prices seem decent.

I read one write up on them, that they are imported from Fullymax Battery Co., and they are constructed with aluminum plates, like Pulse and Opti. Don't know how significant that fact is...

I have a pair of Roaring Top batteries that I have been using in a 6S Agile 5.5. So far I have been very happy with them and considering purchasing more for my other 6S helis.

Why is it someone so bad at being in charge......... wants to be in charge so bad?

thanks for the endorsement. I considering purchasing some for my Trex 600, which runs on 6S also. 6S setups really tax a battery. What C rating did you purchase?

When Roaring Top batteries were first introduced about a year ago they offered some free packs to try, I was one of the lucky ones to get a set. They sent me a pair of 6S 4500 mah 35C batteries which have been used exclusively in my Agile 5.5. If I had purchased these I would have been looking at 45C or greater batteries due to the stress of a 6S system with an Agile 5.5. I have zero complaints about their performance, they have done really well. I am not associated with RT in any way, just a trial user that is happy with the product. I will purchase batteries from RT based on my experience with them. If I can get some of the graphs off my Galaxy Tab from the Bump controller charging data I will post it. The Bump controller graphing is pretty new and not sure it is set up yet to view and convert to jpg format to post.

Great, that's what I wanted to hear, from someone who actually uses the packs. Going to order a couple and give them a test.

I've been using Glaciers for quite some time. The smaller packs are great, but the larger packs seem to have a larger cell voltage discrepancy.

Ok, I just ordered a 6S 5500mah 70C pack for my Trex600.

This heli is probably the hardest on packs so it will be a good test of these batteries.

First flight was just 6 minutes of easy circuits. Pack came down just very slightly warm.

Average cell voltage was 3.79

There was one cell that was slightly lower than the rest. Hoping it comes up after a few cycles.

Checked the IR numbers on my iCharger Duo

1.7

1.5

1.6

1.7

1.7

1.7

Not sure how to interpret IR numbers, maybe someone can comment on them.

It's dark now, hope to get in a few flights tomorrow.

Slowpoke,

Could you post the IRs after a few cycles?

after 5 cycles, the IR has crept up a bit:

2.1

2.3

2.1

2.1

2.2

2.2

After a 6 minute sport flight, the pack is just slightly warm.

Those cell IRs are pretty good for new batteries. After about ten cycles they should settle in.
My first charge of the day the IRs on my batteries are about .5 higher than the rest of the cycles that day. I use Revolectrix charging equipment (PL8s with Bump controller) so my numbers could be different.

pctomlin,

Thanks for the confirmation. So far I'm happy with this battery. The individual cell voltages are staying fairly even. I has good punch and decent run time. I'm planning on buying another.

I would email them first and ask them if they have a current coupon code. You could save 10%
