What other canopy will fit a predator gasser?I don't care if I have to modify it some,as long as its fiberglass.I also have another question, has anybody put a tail rotor from another helicopter on the predator?Parts are getting hard to find.I think I might see if a raptor 90 metal tail pitch yoke will work as they are pretty easy to make.Any tips that I should know about this heli? This is the first century heli I have owned.

Just curious. Did you purchase this new and did you build it yourself? If so how many gallons of fuel have your burned?

As for the tail rotor question, most any tail rotor that is made fro a 5mm output shaft can easily be fitted and made to work.

No I did not purchase it new,it was bought here on RR as ready to fly heli.I have completely disassembled the whole helicopter because the more I went into it the more that I found was wrong and never should have been sold as a flyable heli for the price that I paid.So yes I am rebuilding it completely by the manual. Here are some pics of a ready to fly predator that I got here.Out of all the years on here never had a bad deal, but took it in the A$$ on this one.

dang.... too bad you cant get your money back...

about the only flying that heli will do in that condition is from your hand into the trash...

the bolts can be removed if they have locktite if you apply heat to them via a big soldering iron or pencil torch... otherwise you'll have to cut a slot into them with a dremel disk and then try using a flat blade screwdriver...

the metal worn areas are trashed and not easy to fix unless you know someone with awesome aluminum TIG skills.

the worn holes on the G10/CF side frames are a bit more tricky... I have gotten away with using steel epoxy putty or JB weld sandwitched with tape to hold it while it sets and then sanding flat, then redrilling the holes... doesnt look pretty though.

the bent items like link rods can break or develop cracks when trying to bend them back... bigger issue is the condition of the links themselves... I would replace them all.

its in bad shape, but it can be fixed...just a matter of time, money and available parts and some "custom" work... just not sure its worth it.

sorry about your situation

That totally sucks. I take it you didn't pay with Paypal or some other way that you can claim it?

There seems to be enough people getting rid of old Century stuff that you might be able to find some parts. When you get it back together you will like it though. I don't fly mine much any more (haven't flown any heli's for a bit) but you will like they way it flies. A very relaxing flyer.

With all the warnings on this forum and many others to stay away from Century .
Why on earth do people not heed those warnings.

Strip it for what electronics and parts are good and toss away the rest
you will be wasting more money moving forward with this kit.

brokenlink,

I use to have a predator gasser. I didn't like the canopy that came with it, so I put a raptor 60 canopy on it. it looked a whole lot
better. I also have a few predator parts left.

good to know you worked with it and got it working...

better in the air than on the shelf or in the trash.

They will always be worth more to us (our custom helis) than what anyone will ever offer us for them.

keep'em flying my friends

Good to see you got it up and running. I still like to fly the two I have. I am like others here, who have always really liked their Predators.

If you ever need any parts for it, give me a shout as I still have a fair number of parts.
