Hard to believe that such a successful line of helicopters is gone. I have an entire fleet of nitro Raptors 30,50,60,90 and will continue to fly them until I have nothing left. I've squirreled away parts and kits for years and don't crash often so I'm probably good for life(ish). I've been in and out of actively flying the helis for the past several years and perhaps as recently as last Summer it looked like parts were not going to be a problem. Clearly, now, as I find time to start flying again, given there is nothing left at online retail and very few listings on eBay now, the Raptors are gone. I really thought by now Thunder Tiger would have sorted out their issues and that at least parts would not be a problem. I'm just amazed.

Agreed

I'm pretty bummed out about this too.
A Synergy N5C will replace my X50.

After you start flying the Synergy
I don't think you will miss your Raptor

I went from a Raptor to a Synergy and although Thunder Tiger still pi$$$eS me off about what they did

I wished I had switched much sooner to the Synergy

I don't think you will be disappointed with the Synergy at all !!

So many people started on Raptors! Good, inexpensive, parts everywhere, plentiful setup info....

My first heli was a Raptor 30 with an OS32. Flew it for 4 years while it underwent a never ending series of upgrades. To a 50 sized, OS50 Hyper, and scores of QuickUK upgrades.

My Raptor 30 V2 with the TT .39 engine is still going strong on the original wooden main blades. These things last a good long time once you get through with crashing, and the woodies are just fine for gentle "Old Fart" flying.

I have no spares, so this one will pretty much be done once I finally wear it out.

I also have three flying MT E325 with three kits tucked away so I am set with this one. Yes, I know, (sorry!) these are electric. But they are in the same boat as the other TT helies. No active parts support and a seriously dwindling number of parts that are in the existing parts chain.

I think there are enough Raptors kicking around that people who want to keep them in the air will have plenty of parts. They were tough little buggers. Was my starter heli (Rap 50) and thinking back on it now it could probably still outfly me...

A guy had a brand new (never flown) Raptor 30 at a fun fly a month ago. I got rid of all of mine except for my Raptor 90 at IRCHA 2015, sad day, couldn't sell them for much. I agree with the Synergy comment, great heli

I think I have close to 15 nitro Raptors including a couple 90 kits put away and several I could build from spare parts so I'm good probably for life. I have never wholesaled (destroyed beyond repair) a Raptor and still have my first Raptor v1 (upgraded to full bearings, then upgraded to v2, then upgraded to OS37 and finally upgraded to a 50v2 length tail) but I just hate to see the product line come to an end.

Flew this Raptor 30 v1, today. Replaced the OS .32 with a .37 quite a few years ago, put on the 50's pink stickers and is now guided by a FrSky Taranis radio. Still flies great!

Can't support everything in perpetuity. After-market folks would pick it up if it made financial sense, but it doesn't...

E820, Raptor G4N, X50F/E, E620, Forza 450, and some planks.

I saw the end coming a while back. Part of me said "No problem. There will always be parts." My realistic side said buy everything you find.
7 X-50's plus a huge box of spares.
5 G4.1 nitros. (almost no spares)
5 90SE's and two large buckets of parts.
1 Mint 50 Titan SE and enough parts to rebuild it 3 or 4 times.

I love the Raptors and just got started in this game a little late. I would be sure this would be a lifetime supply because I almost never crash. Glaucoma may change that equation.
Synergy apparently makes the same caliber of machine. If I run out of Raptors or get bored there should be plenty of high quality helis out there to fill in the last years.

I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

Not even close !

Synergy is a much better higher quality machine !

I own both and have put many hours in flying both

The Raptor is a good decent machine for the money
but it is not in the same league as the Synergy

Thanks for that banshee rider.
Good to know.

If the Synergy machines are an entirely different level above the G4.1 and X-50 then there is absolutely nothing for any of us to worry about. Ever.

Most everything is better than the plastic Raptors. The X50 and G4 are much more modern than the original Raptors, and I'm sure those (X50/G4) are very comparable/equivalent to Synergy.

The TT offerings are also better looking IMO.

It is not fun to watch a succesful heli line gone forever. But in the end most heli companies will leave the heli market sooner or latter.
It is a very tight market with less and less customers.
I have never had a Thunder Tiger heli but I do have two JR helis and currently all the Vibe helis, as well as all the Sylphide machines, are out of production including some vital parts like ball links, shafts and gears.
JR did not even release the Forza 550 and that makes me think that JR will stop making helis at all some time soon.
On the other hand the place left by TT and JR may be taken by some new company at some point.

That happened several years ago when Align came on the scene....

Is there still a website out there to order replacement Raptor parts, or is it just limited to classifieds and ebay?

I thought about taking my Raptor50v2 off the wall and replacing the bearings, clean the motor, and try to get it all set up again.

Remember when flying inverted that down is up and up is EXPENSIVE!

I bought direct from TT

I needed a part for my X50 recently & couldn't find any vendors that had it. In fact, everyone was out of everything. I went to the TT website, found the part & ordered it. I've moved on to another brand now.
