I have taken all my cars to the drag strip just to see what they have. Picked up this 2012 Mustang last year and realized I haven't run it yet. I brought it last night to a test and tune night.

The car is a six speed with an intake, exhaust, tune and Mickey T street radials.

I must say, there is a very fine line between crawling off the line, and lighting the tires on fire! This thing is a beast.

Because of my not so great launching skills, I was only able to get a best of 12.8 and best of 114mph. Best 60' was 2.1

The 114 trap speed tells me I should have been a bit quicker! Should be deep into the 12's at 114.

I'm going to get some wider tires and do some suspension work to see if I can help it along.

Anyone else race their daily commuters? Let's see the fast cars!

I've run both my 13 GT and 15 GT. Both were automatics and the best run was 12.65 at 115 with either car. Your right that the mph would put you in the low 12s or high 11s. You are loosing everything in 60 foot. My dad races a 66 mustang coupe with a 347. I went 12.30 in it at 106. But it 60 foots 3 tenths of a second better then my GT

I'm trying to prolong needing a $6K clutch job, so only rolling starts for me ... Its not a drag machine anyway, more at home on the twists and turns

I have been slowly changing out the exhaust out as well for a complete Fabspeed package, including sport cats, headers, etc ...

I did not toast the clutch (yet, haha), but screwing up launching it will burn it in only a few runs ...so i just don't launch from a standstill. once its rolling and clutch is engaged, I can nail it This thing has ruined all other cars for me , lol.

A tunned mustang, most new vettes, and even a tesla model S will smoke me of the line however , lol

Ahh, I see. Yeah I'd baby it too because a clutch is probably a $25k job. Hahaha

Yeah, I drove a 458 Italia and it ruined cars for me. Took a while to finally start accepting "normal" cars again!!!

heliVoy, what's your address?? LOL

beautiful car!!!

Anyway.... I used to drag race in the early 70s, joined the Army in 1975 and left my 69 Charger RT with my brother. Came back from basic and it was gone

It ran 12.20s in the 115-120 mph range. I am looking for the car to try and recover it. this is the only pic I have of it. Testing my traction in front of my house LOL

Sorry, but almost 13 second is slow for a sports car. If your car is stock and can't do under 10 second then you should have purchased a station wagon. A stock 2013 Porsche 918 Spyder will blow your doors off the hinges, with a smaller cc engine. Now this is a chick magnet, not just a horse.
Have fun.

wow, Porsche 918, amazing car, but that is not a sports car , its a HYPER CAR The technology in that thing is amazing, but don't forget its acceleration is also complemented by electric torque, and not just that derived from combustion.

Sports cars are not really chick magnets, that's just a myth. As a matter of fact, i picked up my wife driving a family SUV, lol .. Sports cars, ... they mostly attract old dudes and pimply teenagers

458 is a very nice machine TurboRacer. Its a lot more of a refined ride over the previous generations, especially with the double clutch set up... I have yet to drive one ... Im sure it is pretty sweet

10 second stock cars are all pretty much super cars! To say anything slower should stay home is ignorant! We all drive what we can afford, and like to think it is competitive for the average Joe. FYI the average Joe doesn't have a 10 second car!

I'm far from a ford man, but can appreciate a gear head doing his thing. Sharp pony you have Turboracer!

Thanks
Anthony
