I would also reset or clear the model in the tx too before trying to bind it again.

I have done all the above. I have just about run out of options.

It wouldn't be so bad, but I have the same electronics in another helo, and it binds in less than 15 seconds. No problem.

I am hoping someone will come around who has experienced the same issue.

Seems that you have tried all the possible ways to bind.
Only other thing I can think of to try is use a known good tx and rx to test the tx and rx you have .

Dennis, the only way you will know for absolutely certain is to disconnect EVERYTHING from the AR7200BX, install a bing plug in the bind port, and a known good battery power source to the unit. If the light flashes rapidly as it should in bind mode, but still will not bind to the transmitter, then the unit is faulty. Until you do this exactly, it's all a guess. And that doesn't seem to be working so far. This is If course assuming that the transmitter binds properly to other receivers / FBL units.

Danny, I have disconnected everything as seen in previous responses.

I have another Helo with the "same" exact setup and it binds in 15 seconds with the same radio. I just set up a new model just to try it. Worked perfectly, so I don't think it's the radio!

Infact I have 5 models set up on my transmitter.

My 500 & 600 operated perfectly.

I fly my 500 & 600 helo's with this radio, no issues.

I also have the wall charger that also has a bind power source built in it. It clips right in at the receiver. It doesn't matter just like using a direct battery power source.

I am about ready to buy a new Rx.

Danny, I have been working on this 7200 for the last 3 hours.

The BEC provides the power to the 7200 on this helo. I disconnected "everything" from the 7200. I powered it up using a power source only. No luck. I move away 15ft and tried. NO Good

The manual even has a paragraph giving procedures if your Rx is powered by the BEC.

I tried resetting the 7200. It will not let me reset it. After putting my 600 next to the 700, I made sure everything was hooked up exactly like the other. I reset my transmitter model and started from scratch. No good.

Yes, I will be ordering another Rx.

Anybody have suggestions for a new one, or should I just stick with the 7200?

Thanks for your time an courtesy,

Dennis

If you send the ar7200 in for repair you might get some compensation for it or they might send you a new one.

Well, I talked to Horizon yesterday and went over the problem.

Meantime, I flew my 500 yesterday. For some reason I had to re-bind the 7200 again! HOWEVER, the bind process took about 10 seconds!

I flew the 500 with no issues! I know my radio is good. I did think I had a problem when I had to rebind it.

I am going to update date the 7200 on my 600 using the USB interface just to see. Even Horizon stated it is worth a shot.

Just wanted to bring you up to date.

Again, Thanks to everyone who is helping.

I tried resetting the 7200. It will not let me reset it.
Where you able to reset it with horizons rep help?

I just recently did a friends (has no satellite) and as per the manual way of resetting it, it did not work. Have to press and hold then release and press again. Learned this from other users at field.

It is reset if all the LEDs are sequentially lighting up.

Pistol Pete,

NO, Horizon could not help, told me to send it in for repair.

I guess you're referring to the 7200 and not the transmitter. Just making sure.

I am going to try it.

I do have another AR7200 just like this one. I had to bind it about 5 times this week with the same radio due to repairs. I have no problem binding it at all.

If you could, give me a step by step process that worked for you. I would be willing to call you and go over this 7200.

Thanks,

Dennis

RESETTING AR7200BX

Sorry for lack of details but here is the nitty gritty and some. Chances are you know this but *bear with me just in case*.

The FBL unit is being used in a 500 dominator and NO satellite.

Radio used is a Spektrum and BY DEFAULT the GYRO is INH-disabled and also assigned to the GEAR channel.

I enable the GYRO and assigned it to the 3 position "B" switch, which also happens to be my assigned FLIGHT MODE switch.

I start with the following GAIN numbers in the GYRO menu and later adjust where needed:

POS 0 +50 (+ HEADING HOLD, lower head speed)
POS 1 +40 (+ HEADING HOLD, higher head speed)
POS 2 -40 (- RATE MODE, same high head speed as POS 1)

RATE mode allow me to mechanically adjust tail blades pitch properly and it is also cool to fly "sport or scale" with only the right Tx stick just like a plane.

**The main reason I write all the above is due to the color the STATUS LIGHT will be on FBL when powered up.

BLUE is HEADING HOLD
PURPLE is RATE MODE

One of the letters LED will also light up depending on how much GAIN is being used. The higher the GAIN the higher in the alphabet. In my set-up, using +50 GAIN lights up the "G" LED and it turns off after about 7 seconds.

Given mine is already set up with HEADING HOLD, my status light is SOLID BLUE when powered up and yours "may be" purple which may throw off the explanation below when you release and press the button the second time.

*That was the bear with me part, now back to the FBL*

PRESS and HOLD button where the letter "A" will first FLASH RED and then go to a SOLID RED while STATUS ligh remains SOLID BLUE

When it goes SOLID RED, RELEASE BUTTON AND PRESS AND HOLD AGAIN FOR AT LEAST 10 seconds.

WHILE you are pressing the button, now ONLY the "B" LED lights up and the STATUS LIGHT changes to SOLID PURPLE.

AFTER 10 seconds ALL the LEDs will light up sequentially from A to N ONLY ONCE and STATUS LIGHT goes back to SOLID BLUE.

The FBL unit has been reset.

Hope this helps and if not, it may be worth sending unit in. I like how easy it is to set up and no PC required.
