Hi all,

Where can I get a good quality and universal OWB puller for 600-700 size or what is a good option for tools I may have laying around to make one ?

Thanks

A couple of sockets of the appropriate size and a bench vise would do . The smaller socket of the right size would be used to "push" the bearing into the bigger socket . Hard to describe in words but I hope it makes sense .
I'm out of town at the moment otherwise I would snap a pic of the setup....

Ps--- check out the last row of pics in my gallery where I'm using a similar technique to press in a bushing into a side frame using a vise....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Ok, yep I follow what you mean. The vise is just a miniature hydraulic press (figuratively speaking) and the sockets serve as dies/spacers.

Feel a bit silly now as I've used this technique for a number of chores over the years but it certainly beats having to buy a specialty tool that gets used once ever few years lol

Thanks for knocking the cob webs from between me ears Juan !

Will post some pictures of a home made OWB remover/installer that will cost you about $5.00.

Why is it someone so bad at being in charge......... wants to be in charge so bad?

Here is a way to easily remove and reinstall a OWB on a 550 size heli. All parts were sourced at a home improvement store. I took my OWB assembly with me to fit up the parts that I needed to get the bearing out. Very simple and easy to use. If you follow the pictures you can get an idea of how to pull and reinstall the OWB. Fit up the socket head bolt so it will go through the OWB housing and ride on the outside frame of the bearing to remove. Get it to length needed, or get another to reinstall that is longer for handling the additional washers.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

The only thing you need to be really careful with is make sure you install the OWB the right way. Easiest way to figure out is to insert the sleeve and see what direction it locks up in and then insert the OWB in the housing appropriately.

Glad I could help out.
