guys, my Rx is the RG812BX, and I understand the antennas need to be mounted at 90 degrees to each-other,, so

my manual tells me to mount both antennas at the same plain, so at that both antennas would be mounted horizontal, but the guys at the field tell me that one antenna should be mounted vertical and the other should be mounted horizontal,, I understand why the guys at the field told me that but I called JR and I was told there was no real reason to mount one vertical and the other horizontal

so I'm just wonder how you guys feel about this ??

let me know, thanks

Jim

No Need

No need to mount one vertical.. in the past that was the requirement for the Spektrum based equipment, but with the DMSS I usually just try to aim one forward and one towards the rear.. have had no issues in 2 years... this is on small planes to 14' ws planes..
Go have fun

thanks Stan !!, that's close to what I was thinking I would get for an answer,,
the instructions that came with my RX shows to mount them in a V-pattern but still at 90 degrees, this is so the wires are not bent so sharply, I like that idea because it will work out great in my planes

I mount them at 90 degrees to each other on all three axes.

I also use the satellite antenna (not necessary, but a bit of insurance never hurts).

I point one up, one left to right, and one straight back or straight forward. I make sure that the satellite is at the opposite end of the aircraft.

I know this is overkill, but I like overkill.

I have been flying JR DMSS for about three years now, and have NEVER had a glitch!

I could not be more pleased with it!

On the Forza 700:

Satellite is on the left side of the ship with antenna mounted horizontally in plastic tube:

Main receiver is mounted on the left side rear of the frames. One antenna is mounted low and pointing aft:

Second antenna from main receiver is mounted vertically:
