Starting new post as original post has DOC category.

Here are some in-work pics. Burning the midnight oil trying to get project completed before adding additional detail.

Newer seats and cyclic sticks have been ordered. Have some Cine-Scale parts from way back that just don't fit the bill anymore. Some 3D parts from Vario, but the finish is poor and required a great deal of prep to get a smooth/usable part. I like 3D printed parts, but I would really like plastic model finish parts. Never-the-less it keeps one busy.

At times its seems like a never ending project. There's always another detail that can be added. I will surely have a plan and stick to it on the next build.

I'm sure there is an ideal order of operation when building, but we all have to start somewhere.

That cockpit looks great!! BTW, for what it's worth, plans rarely work out with scale helis. There's always an obstacle or work around...

Dealing with another one of those now with lighting accessories.

One step forward and three steps back

and/or

One step has multiple sublayers that must be completed prior to completing said step.

Work continues on fenestron. Stator painted so now its a matter of installing 20 screws along with drilling some additional holes. Not much room so I'll need to come up with a drilling solution for 8 screws. Should have been done on the front end of build, but it is what it is.

Hey Sean, I have a 90 degree porkchop (drill offset) and the short bits that go in it. It's for tight fit areas. Let me know if you might be able to use it, I'm happy to lend it to you.

Thanks Barry. Added Dremel flex shaft to tool chest.

Remaining interior parts have arrived. I like the 3D print parts, but would like to have parts that is more model part quality or molded. Nevertheless huge time saver.

You're very welcome, glad you got it figured out. The secret to finishing 3D plastic parts is to spray them with filler primer, then scuff them with red scotchbright until you see the lines, then repeat. The primer fills the voids in the part and gives you a smoother finish. It's still more work than a molded part...

It's been a long process. One thing for sure, there is always another detail that can be added. A few items remain at this junciton and I'm finally putting tools and material aside. Notice, how I didn't say, "away".

I really like the Fine-scale parts despite the prep required compared to Vario 3D parts the lacked the detail.

Big thanks to Taylor (Taylor Made Helicopters) for the critical gearbox and misc tail drive hardware.
