Anyone using shims of any sort, to lock there main shaft from any up and down play?

I have pulled up on the head and cranked on the collar to the point of snapping the head off the hex bolt.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

I figured it out, just shim the lower part of the main shaft.. Being that the space was too big for the bolt.
For anyone that might have the same issue.

You should never need a shim. All up and down play should be eliminated with the collar. Side to side in the tail pulley is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

I would agree with you, but in this case the collar kept slipping. Since I have added two shims. The issue has not returned.
