Saudi Arabia resumed its appalling war in Yemen last week and has already killed dozens more civilians, destroyed a school full of children and leveled a hospital full of sick and injured people. The campaign of indiscriminate killing – though let’s call it what it is: a war crime – has now been going on for almost a year and a half. And the United States bears a large part of the responsibility.

This US-backed war is not just a case of the Obama administration sitting idly by while its close ally goes on a destructive spree of historic proportions. The government is actively selling the Saudis billions of dollars of weaponry. They’re re-supplying planes engaged in the bombing runs and providing “intelligence” for the targets that Saudi Arabia is hitting.

Put simply, the US is quite literally funding a humanitarian catastrophe that, by some measures, is larger than the crisis in Syria. As the New York Times editorial board wrote this week: “Experts say the coalition would be grounded if Washington withheld its support.” Yet all we’ve heard is crickets.

High-ranking Obama administration officials are hardly ever asked about the crisis. Cable television news has almost universally ignored it. Both the Clinton and Trump presidential campaigns have been totally silent on this issue despite their constant arguing over who would be better at “stopping terrorism”. Beyond the grotesque killing of civilians, it’s clear at this point that the Saudis’ bombing campaign has also boosted al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (Aqap) to a level which Reuters described as “stronger and richer” than anytime in its 20-year history.

The fact that the Obama administration has allowed the Saudis to continue committing war crimes should be a full-fledged scandal. Officials should be resigning over this and shouting from the rooftops. Instead, for months, we’ve heard almost nothing from the administration beyond a couple boilerplate, lukewarm expressions of “concern” as the death toll has mounted over a year and a half.

Will the Obama administration officials ever act at this point? Given US officials think they need to placate Saudi Arabia after the Iran nuclear deal, it seems unlikely they have the spine. But I hope they understand: the White House’s continued facilitation of this awful crime against the people of Yemen will stain Obama’s legacy long after he leaves office.

And yes we have US troops there as advisors, wink wink. Our CIA, NSA, and State Department are playing very dangerous games with other nations. This MUST stop.

Must be stopped? Don't be naive. This is the way of the world.

As it was, is, and will be.

At least until He returns.

Do not look for hope here in the flesh. It cannot be had. The flesh, the world, rewards corruption, deception, treachery, and violence. The rich drink and dance while the poor starve and fight the wars. The strong prey upon the weak. All the way from the animal kingdom to human kingdoms.

The world is fallen.

This is no place for our spirit.

The flesh is but a temporary holding cell. Thank God.

You'll find no solace here in the flesh. Maybe temporary reprieve. But nothing real. Nothing everlasting. Place your faith where it belongs. There's only one who can save. And He is Jesus Christ.

and if any one of you all really studied your history, none of these "wars" would ever come as a surprise to you...

we were warned by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1961 to be aware of the military Industrial complex... war is business, manufacturers of weapons make money from wars...the only way to stay profitable is to keep the world at war... and sell to one side the better mouse while selling the other side an upgraded cat..

Just keep relying on mankind and its institutions to change. I mean, it's worked great so far. Right?

Saying "but it's 2016" won't change much.

But faith will.

Even if Trump is elected, I don't know if he can rein in the CIA, NSA, and our State Department.

Our military Industrial complex must be embedded in the very fabric of our government.

It appears we have an elected government, but also a shadow government of string pullers that make things happen world wide.

I have no idea if Trump can improve this situation, but I am well satisfied that Hillary is an established part of the problems in DC.

At first I couldn't understand why both the left and the right were so opposed to Trump's running, but he represents a danger to the established elites in DC. I fear for Trump's safety if he's elected.

If Hillary is elected, I can see wars until someone pushes that red button and then, it's game over.

The above video is an indication of the problem with our shadow government.

Maybe we don't attack Russia directly or maybe we don't even have plans to attack Russia ever, but we might make Russia nervous enough to make a mistake that we would all regret.

Example: Saddam did not have WMD's before we attacked him. But in captivity he admitted he pushed that idea to scare his enemies. The problem was everybody started believing it...too much!

China doesn't like the new missiles we are installing in South Korea. But we calmed their fears by telling them we are aiming them toward North Korea...thank goodness we can't redirect them.

We need a strong military, but we don't need to rule the world (plus we can't).

The military industrial complex has no intention of ending anything... the idea is to keep the world in a perpetual state of conflict, just before the point of a world ending WW3... a nuke would end that process.

no, the weapons/support systems manufacturers whole intention is to keep us paying into the system... guns, ammo, trucks, tanks, planes, ships, satellites, cyberweapons, biological/chemical agents, underground military bases, advanced radar

...and on the other side (also for sale):

cures/antidotes to counteract manufactured biological/chemical agents, bunkerbusters, jammers, security software/hardware, anti-satellite weapons, anti-ship missiles, attack-planes, anti-tank weapons, mines, armor/bullet proof vests...

and they do this my manipulating paying high ranking officers such as generals that work with advanced weapons development at the pentagon or other secret sites and give politicians part of the proceeds via lobbyists

guys...we are being sold cats by the same person that breeds the mice...
