Yesterday I cleared 1200 flights with the whiplash, took me 3 years, 10 months and 25 days to get there. A little quicker than my 1005, I remembered I made a post about 1200 flights with that and just looked it up:

This whiplash has been good to me, just had issues with the one way bearing breaking free and damaging the gears in the past, but that has been addressed with a new one way bearing from MA last year and new CNC gears. Everything is smoother now and the bearing seems to be lasting, its been in there since June 11th, 2015 flight #953 so that's the longest it ever lasted with no issues.

But anyways that point is moot now, shortly the new Whiplash v2 is coming out with the one way bearing moved to the main gear plus a whole lot of updates/improvements, so I expect it will be even better though its hard to top what the current whiplash has been for me in the past almost 4 years. Here is a link for that, I like the matching fin to the canopy now

Cheers and keep the rotors turning!

Raja, I just got my Whippy gasser (version 1) going again with the Jewel generator. It now has the new Jeti DS-16 radio controlling it! Using the REX R7 receiver talking to the Spartan Vortex integration style! Now I can change the Spartan setting through the radio! No more data pod...

Nice!!

oooooohh Jeti radio, cool stuff! Not sure if we are going to convert those to v2 whiplashes or just keep it the same but at least get the new one way for it with new gears (what I have now). I guess I'll decide after I fly the new v2 whiplash and see how that does with autos and such.

In time I will convert my Whippy to V2, but for the time being I'll leave it the way it is. I will buy the new OWB to try that...and possibly the tail gears!

I need to get my nitro Whippy running next, and then decide what I want to do with the electric version. I might convert it to nitro V2 during the winter.

The Jeti radio feels great. It's taking a bit of time to learn what it is capable of and to get the basics down. It will allow me to create a page of the most used screens to access faster versus searching for them.
