Does anyone have a century helicopter with a 4 blade head and century clutch that works? These clutches slip with the 4 blade head and burn up. I'm thinking about trying a different lining, maybe align? I have several other 2 blade century helicopters with the same clutch with no problems. Anyone have solution to this problem? I've gone through 4 clutches.

Usually if your head speed is on the low side and blades ate on the heavy side that a good combo for tearing up clutches and liners. Try a lighter set if blades and or a little higher head speed. When u try again, hover for a minute or so then land and feel the clutch bell, if its hot, its slipping. This is a way to tell there's trouble before it burns up a lining. I had the same discussion with a gentleman at ircha this psdt wknd about the same issue.

clutch

hello copter doctor,
Thanks for the interest! my first blades were 182 grams and now I'm using blades at 135 grams but, that didn't make any difference. The throttle setting is at mid stick 50% with 5 degree of pitch. All my other century heli's are set up this way including a 3 blade machine with these plastic clutches and work fine. Perhaps the plastic clutch driving 4 blades has some give to it causing the shoes to slip. Maybe a metal clutch bell would work if I can find one.
