I have a Goblin 380 with a BeastX FBL and a satellite, CC Talon 90 ESC, and Align digital servos. It seems to fly great, but I was playing with it on the floor in throttle hold last night and noticed if I move the rudder from full left to full right as fast as I can, after about 7-10 times, the lights on the sat. and BeastX will go off for about a half a second then come back on. I tried it doing the same thing with the collective.....after about 10 times it would go off. Am I pulling too much current? I have no idea what is causing this. Everything is oiled and appears to be moving freely. Any thoughts?

How are you powering up the BeastX?

Could be problem related to voltage... Check for loose connectors...humidity...

Check your Tx, looking for faint radio signal... Spektrum function...

Do not Fly your heli that way...

I assume that you're using an original Spektrum satellite in your setup.

Output of Talon 90 BEC is rated for 9 amp continuous, in which should be enough for a Goblin 380 using Align servos.

You may troubleshoot it by testing the ESC's BEC; connect a different power source but remember to temporarily disconnect the red wire from ESC before you do that.

If the issue remains, you'll have to use a wattmeter like the "Watt's Up" (or similar), to check the Amps draw. This meter may be connected between BEC and BeastX to measure total Amps draw or you can connect it between the BeastX and servos to measure each servo Amps draw individually.

In any case, this meter will measure peak Amps and Minimum voltage ("sags", which is what we are looking for in these tests. If the peak Amps are higher than what your BEC can deliver or if the minimum voltage is lower than 4.8V, then you found the probable root of your problem.

You can find this meter at: https://www.motionrc.com/products/w...volt-watt-meter

I was trying the watts up meter to check my servo loads last year when I was having similar issues with my miniV and BK servos. I was told that the watt meter didn't react fast enough to see voltage spikes. I don't know if this will help you, but my issue turned out to be back EMF induction voltage spikes that caused the Vbar to brown out.

I resolved the issue with a WR Super Hercules Pro BEC. It somehow filters the back EMF from the servos.

If you are using a DSM2 SAT ... Try using a DSMX. That might do the trick. Let us know if that works out.. I will fill in the details.

A dsm2 sat will not even work with a beastx, duh!

Cliff, are you going to move your rudder and collective fully, as fast as you can, 7-10 times in flight? I doubt it so probably would not worry about it but still a good idea to try to sort it out anyway imho.

I wouldn't fly it like that; something is definitely wrong!

Turns out there was an issue with the quick link. I changed it to a regular extention and no problem. Guess it is a good thing why we figure out our problems and don't just go fly it.

What is the 'quick link'? It would be nice to know. Thanks.

Edit; so this was a problem with the SAB quick battery connectors? Sounds a bit fishy if these were installed correctly to begin with.

I believe Cliff is referring to Castle Creations quick link interface which allows easy access to ESC setup mode without having to disconnect any cables.

OK. I'll ask. What was the problem with CC Quick-Connect? I've used one in the past without issue. Did I just get lucky? Is there something to look out for? Or did you just have a chaffing wire or something else specific to your install?

OK, so maybe one of the castle quick connect cables was faulty?

Still sounds a bit fishy to me but heh, as long as works now that's great!

I don't know why it didn't work.....but it didn't. I called Castle and they want me to send it in so they can take a look at it. Ya know....come to think of it.....it actually took several tries to get it to link up to the computer for programming too. Guess we will just see what they say.
