the Alouette 2 was a POS. I had (still have) several JR in storage and A Helibaby or two as well as Some Revolution 40 and 60 size and don't forget the Dubro Shark.

Cool to see how far we've come. The linkages look so thin back then.

When in doubt....fly higher!

I still have my first heli from 1986. I take it out for a spin once every few years. It was a great heli for its time... But its time has past! It flies as good as it ever did but by modern standards it barely gets airborne.

Picking up into a hover and you immediately notice how far gyros and servos have come. The servos I use today have more than 4 times the torque and are more than 4 times faster. Add 200+ gram blades, a mechanical rate gyro, and wire-drive tail and the whole thing feels like it is just wallowing and got a mind of its own. There isn't the same feeling of being connected as with a current helicopter.

It was good for its day but it highlights how far we've come.
